I think the reason they are currently using Reddit is because everyone can join, even those who aren't playing the game. This will generate some extra buzz for the game and should lead to more subs. In the end more subs will lead to more quality content for us.
I think it's fine as it's now but it should probably be somewhat mixed, like questions can be posted here too (and are answered on reddit)22 -

✭Nice. They did the sound guys earlier. But what's really needed is the programmers/designers of the games to do one.

It is also nice that we got to know this waaaay after it was posted on Reddit. Make us paying customers feel really warm, fuzzy and special.

Maybe there is a story somewhere about how the martial arts are currently being outshone by mages, and soon some brilliant combat masters and their proteges will come and show everyone how to improve.This one has an eloquent and well thought out response to tha... Ooh sweetroll!2 -

I think the quote was referring to the fact people were complaining this was announced on Reddit before while there was no formal announcement on the official forums.

Thing is, not everyone wants to use third party forums to stay informed.
Everyone can join steam too, yet not everyone wants to.
In my opinion such things belong to the official game forum and not a third party one.4 -

We wanted to wait to post the announcement here until we had the picture of the team to share, which we didn't have a chance to take until today. Actually I can't because Reddit gets blocked at work (not that I'd ever visit that site on my home network either). You might as well be posting on 4Chan. (Wretched hives of scum and villainy.)

ACTUALLY, the AMA was way more civilized than a lot of what goes on in the forums. Orders of magnitude more civilized. There is so much hate here.
