Will Spell Crafting in update 1.5.0 fix allot of the balancing issues?

When spell crafting comes out there will be a massive amount of customization, this means that you can give yourself a heal if you don't have one or a good ranged ability if you need one of those too, there will definitely need to be good balancing but when it is all set do you all think the classes will be more balanced?

    How do you know Spellcrafting is coming in patch 1.5?

    They never confirmed 1.5 they have just said that it will be coming out after upper craglorn and champion system. Since upper craglorn and champion system were both supposed to come out in 1.4 and they are pushing champion back I assume that 1.5 will have either champion system and spell crafting or in 1.6 there will be spell crafting.

    I'm feeling like it may be closer to 1.7/1.8.

    I'm still excited for the system though.

    I'm not certain about balance impacts, aside from perceiving potential benefit that will come from having a Magicka-based Stamina heal skill helping Stamina builds manage the main resource pool a bit better.

    -I bet a large sum of gold, spell crafting will take consumables.
    -If there isnt stamina skills as well as magicka skills to create it will ruin the game no one will play anything but magicka builds.
    -you wont get to make whatever you want. It will be a small combination of spell attributes you can combine. Because of this min/axes will discover the best spells to create within the first day. And everyone will use the same things.

    Chose No, because it most probably won't be 1.5. :p

    And aside from that I expect some more imbalances when spellcrafting is first introduced to the game. Players are very creative and I'm pretty sure that the system will be changed quite a few times before it's somehow balanced. =)

    It will just lead to overpowered flavor-of-the-month builds. Except now everyone will have access to the fotm instead of only one class. To be honest, if it does *not* lead to overpowered fotm builds at first, that would be bad. It would likely point to the system being too rigid to be of much use.

    As much as I want spell crafting to be awesome, for some reason I'm imagining a clunky system reliant on spell scrolls tied to the already clunky quick action wheel. I really hope I'm wrong though.

    Spell crafting doesn't use consumables, you use skill points to unlock the abilities you learn from reading the tablets you craft.

    Here is how it works as of the information that has been released. You create a spell. You "consume" it- this adds the spell to your spell library. You open your skill list, go to the spell library, and drag the spell from your library onto your action bar. Once it's on your action bar, you use it an unlimited number of times just like any other skill.

    Stamina builds are already questionable. Unless I'm missing some key part of spell crafting it would seem to make a magicka build a necessity even more. It would perhaps "fix" the balance by removing any remaining doubt that one should have a magicka build.

    I want spell crafting, but honestly think stamina needs development first. Being able to mix weapon skills with "other" magicka skills while tying them to stamina could be a panacea for the stamina build.

    I don't see how it's even possible that additional magica based options (and I'd assume SPELL crafting will be magica based) will do anything to address the apparent imbalance between stamina and magica builds. If anything it's likely to make matters even worse.

    That said, I just really really really hope that between now and spellcrafting, they'll add the option to swap skill bars w/o actually having to have a second set of weapons.

    Spell crafting will not fix anything. It will introduce a lot of new bugs in a system that is untested, it will prolly break a few existing systems, and I'm quite sure some people will figure out a way to either become UBER with it or cause a lot of grief to others.

    Then it will be nerfed, reverse nerfed, raised up, then nerfed again.

    I never see this.. Imbalance you speak of I do see however, many players who need to learn to play better and especially get over themselves and start playing in teams.

    Much later actually, you can see Matts statement here:

    Now we know Champion system is coming in 4 stages, and 2nd stage (exp instea of VR points) didnt make it to 1.4
    We also know that facial animation was supposed to take months, which is soon for ZOS

    1.5 would probably go ahead only with veteran City of Ash dungeon, Champion system and Imperial city 1.6 at best (2-3 months) and the stuff everyone crave most, Spellcrafting (or classic ES spells to be more accurate) and DB/Thives 4-5 months if we are lucky

    Please note Im not judging ZOS schedule, I prefer they take their time and give us good content rather than rush to satisfy hungry players, Im just trying to be more realistic with my estimates (and they are only my estimates, we never know if the devs get delayed here and there)

    Hopefully the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild skill lines provide mostly stamina based skills with beneficial passives for stamina users. This would help balance out the magicka focused Spell crafting system(even if a few created spells may end up being used in stamina builds).

    Balance between Stamina and Magicka? If anything, spell crafting will make it less likely for people to do Stamina builds.

    Everyone will be able to make the same spells; DK, NB, Templar, and Sorcerer. The only difference between the classes will be the class skills and they could end up being largely ignored. Spell crafting should be able to replace the bulk of the class skills and magicka based weapon skills.
