You mean the 5 piece bonus that gives an 8% chance to eliminate the cost of the spell that you cast?

Although over time, the 8% Reduction from Seducer is statistically the same as the 8% chance for a negate from Magnus, if you ignore the RNG aspect of the negate chance, the small chance to negate not a useful bonus in the game. Reason, you regen mana both in and out of combat. So, because of that, it makes more sense tactically to have a constant 8% reduction in spell cost than something that has a 92% chance of failure in giving you a free spell.

Of course people will pile into this thread trying to convince you that these two bonuses are exactly the same, but they are not due to game mechanics.

The Negate Ultimate is a spell that removes any spell effects in an area for a certain length of time, so no healing, no attack spells. So, it is not the same type of effect at all.

In regards to the OP: totally different then the sorc spell. The set gives you a 8% chance at a free spell cast. The sorc ultimate is an aoe that stops all magic in the aoe effect.
