Soul Gems again!

I have a level 11 high elf character. I have many unfilled soul gems. No level of npc character will charge these empty gems. I am well versed in how to charge soul gems, these are appropriate to my level, I have the appropriate button on my bar, I use if correctly and am told that I must have soul gems of an appropriate level to use collect souls from 1 to 15 in any of the three zones I have been in. This is getting damned expensive and I find I must use my vet characters to go material farming to provide enough gold just to aid this level 11 character. Is there any actual information about appropriate soul gem levels versus appropriate npc"s? My other two vet characters have never had this problem, so I am confused.

    The soul gems go based of your level not enemy level. You can fill a grand gem with the soul from a deer.

    @ers101284b14_ESO‌ No, you cant. Soul gems have their level and only appropriate NPC level soul can fill it.

    Yeah you can. I've done it many times.

    Yeah you can. I've done it many times.

    Really? I always get notification that I don't have valid soul gem (or something like this). But I'm sure I have an empty soul gem in my bag. Need to check.

    I only get notifications that I don't have an empty soul gem.
    I remember the first time I got a deer soul in a high level gem I was like "huh that's weird" cause in the solo games they have to have certain levels for certain gems

    This isn't true. you will get the animation that looks like you are filling a soulgem but you get a message saying "You must have a valid empty soulgem" and your soulgem (if level inappropriate) isn't filled

    I had it set to auto fill with the passive. And yeah it filled it. Maybe it's a bug but on my end it had always worked no matter the soul gem to enemy level

    Msybe you fill SG because of passive? I fill SG only with soul trap skill.

    Could be. The passive is so nice.

    Works same way with passive. You get an animation when it procs but no soulgem is filled. Read your soulgem. Grand soulgem (empty) "Used to capture lev. 50 or better souls" Seems pretty explicit how its supposed to work .

    You probably are just mistaken and don't want to admit it but yeah we can go with that.

    Considering how many times I've seen need appropriate level soul gem which questing on my vr1 sic in cold harbor while having about 50 empty gems in my bag I can say you are most definitely bugged, and I only use passive unless I need gems bad, though I usually pass gems from alt to alt. My sorc is an Archer so killed a lot with melee, and that proceed a lot but never filled any gems until I got to level 50+mobs

    @ers101284b14_ESO‌, yeah...no, unless you're filling 1-9's.

    If this were the case, no one would every get larger gems. Care to link a video showing you inventory, the capture, and the filled Grand with the level 1 deer aftermath?
