You mean "I want" not "we need".
(if you don't mean that, well you should)

I personally don't care, as long as they are optional.

there have been made studies Alex, that the people that always try to say we instead of themselves, are insecure and cant deal with the fact that their idea will get tossed aside.

its always them or we, never I :)

back to topic, I dont care either if they make it in the game, just as long as it is Optional !

Really, darn it, something else to watch out for.

I have no problem with the idea.

its something to do with distancing from the idea, and making it so it looks that many are already with it.

like in a workspace where there is two shifts, there its always worse, since the blame always goes on the day-shift if its the night-shift that made a mistake and vs versa :)

Yes we do. You're not alone. The above posters are now incorrect to have called you on the I and we.

I'd like chat bubbles, because sometimes it's hard to pin down who's talking, especially when roleplaying; though as @Artemiisia‌ said, make them optional.

Actually the OP said Optional first, fairs fair.

This one wonders what it implies about the Khajiit psyche...

The stable master in Rawl'kha comes to mind: "The Khajiit have suffered much, but they are a lively people..."

Seems to me the OP knew he wasn't alone. If I were to right now say "we need more cat videos on YouTube" someone would agree with me, I guarantee it.

Not to get away from the topic though. It was just a light hearted comment. I'm (we're) all for chat bubbles.

I NEED optional chatbubbles too. Anybody who can't read and missed the word optional please be quiet.

ZOS has confirmed that chat bubbles are in the works, we just don't know what the timeline is on them. Personally I absolutely hate chat bubbles, as they make games feel more cartoonish to me, so I'll have them turned off.

Oddly enough, facial animation takes a higher priority. I was confused about how important it is for me to be able to lip read the NPCs. Thanks ZOS!

With the exception, that the bubble isnt actually right above the person who said something. So its just a chat extension unfortunatly.

Relatively few people want chat bubbles, but refuse to use an addon for chat bubbles.

But everybody sees dialogue, so yes it makes sense that refining lip synching would be a priority. You're a minority niche... deal with it. Or install an addon for them, for now.

I myself would love to see native gamepad support on the PC version, but I realize I'm in the minority there. So I use XPadder. I deal with it.

I am definitely in a minority niche as I want neither chat bubbles nor facial animation. I am equally disinterested in both features. My interest is actually the priority between the two.

On the one hand, we have a client feature that has been talked about since the very start of the game. On the other hand, we have a client feature that appears no one in the forums even thought about until QuakeCon.

I find the relative priority, as presented to the public, very interesting.

I'd have to argue "we" includes all of us. If at least one of "us" disagrees, then it's no longer "we". It's "some of us".

That said, I've always found chat bubbles to be completely worthless. If I want to know whose talking I look at the name to the left of the statement in my "important" chat window. (filters out all /zone, etc.) I can't begin to imagine how useless they'd be playing in a first person game. Bad enough in third person ones.

They're both plural pronouns, meaning more than one. If I were to say that we're getting married or we were in a car accident, I wouldn't be talking about the entire planet. We in this case simply meant; myself and anyone else in agreement, but it doesn't really matter.

Some people might not like the chat bubbles, so this is why it's important that they're optional. Personally, I just find it easier to look above the head of the person talking, than match the name to the character; especially when role-playing. It isn't a big deal though, and even if we never get the feature, I doubt I'd kick up much of a fuss, but it'd be still nice to see.

You can tweak your chat window to display text above a characters head? Do tell.

Quite right, though it isn't high on the developers priority list; since they've said as much.

Maybe you can drag your chat window so it is in the middle of the screen? Should then be above most character's heads.

It's not a total solution, but the Chat Bubbles addon has been revived by another modder who's looking to do some cool things with it. Sure a little support wouldn't hurt!
