Question about DoTs - which ones can be applied to multiple targets simultaneously?

So I have a DoT-specced bloodmage(NB). In every game I play, I look for the DoT-based class and go for that. I noticed that many of my DoTs (especially the ones that heal) can only be applied to one enemy at a time. Is this a bug or is this design intended? If it is intended, can we have tooltips to reflect this? It would be nice to know which DoTs are only limited to one instance per caster so I can know better if my abilities are bugging or not!

NB dots are; agony, cripple, soul tether, lotus fan, path of darkness, summon shade, and veil of blades.

The only nb dot that can heal is refreshing path. It can also damage multiple targets, being an aoe. Strife is a single target spell with a hot. It is not, however, a dot. To my knowledge, cripple can only be applied to one target. Bleeds, like the one from lotus fan do not stack with other bleeds from the same ability, but they will stack with the bleed from other abilities. Lotus fan's bleed is an aoe, so it will apply to multiple targets.
This one has an eloquent and well thought out response to tha... Ooh sweetroll!

Unless you give your NB a stick, they are single target, burst optimized. How I handle multiple mobs is to kill one at at time, then kill the next etc. There are some DW skills that have some, not a lot, but some, DoT. As Mentioned the Path skill can DoT AoE, but that is more to give you time/speed to kill the mobs one at a time.

Really to take best advantage of the NB (sneak criticals and burst attacks for 1600 to 2400 damage then follow up with Hidden Blade or other attacks) is do what you can to increase Critical Chance and Critical Damage. Then, take out one mob at time, with Healers being the primary target.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Unfortunately DoTs are not very potent in this game no matter the class.
NB have access Cripple and Mage Guild Entropy for single target DoTS that can stack or be applied on at most 2 targets. Veil of Blades Is pretty good stationary AOE dot. Strife and morphs are single shot damage dealers with a HOT which does not stack. Sap essence Is also a direct damage AOE and ca heal you but it is not a DOT/HOT. It does fit into the blood mage thing you want even if the lore of the NB Siphoning has nothing to do with bloodmagic,

You will be unable to go for a pure DOT build but the feel you are looking can be achieved by using Strife,Cripple,Siphoning Attacks, Sap Essence and Veil of Blades on a magicka heavy ,spell crit build. It is extremely potent and a lot of fun in PVE if you combine it with resto, destro, weapon and shield.

Oh and there is nothing more fun then a dynamic overt 2xResto or Resto/Destro NB in PVP shoving stealth NB bows and poison arrows up their behind. Ranger NBs what a dumb concept.
