With so much negativity swirling around the boards, I thought to myself - let's have some good in here.

Let's have your stories from Tamriel. Of good times or funny things that have happened to you, or just a time you really enjoyed what the game has to offer.

I'll get the ball rolling.

I was helping a friend do some lower level quests and bosses in Alki'r. We were wandering by a Dolomen, and decided to sit and stay until it came up to do it.

When we got chatting about the Dolomens and plans of Molag Bal.

We figured out that there are, in total, around 55 Anchors that drop all over the currently open zones. Plus a huge one over Imperial City. Then we got debating about how on earth Molag Bal could pull Nirn into Coldharbour with just 56 anchors, and how pulling the whole of Nirn into Coldharbour could possibly crush Coldharbour, or pulling it in piece by piece would take a long time. A particularly slow way of conquering. And with the amount of people stopping the anchors, it's a pretty flawed plan. I think maybe old Molag didn't think it through properly.

Was just a fun and rather surreal moment for me. Sticks in my mind.

What are yours? :#

So I'm on a quest in The Rift, doing the generic bad-guys-who've-overrun-us-and-you-alone-can-save-us mission that we've all done a million times. You know the routine--how the entire army was overrun at X-landing and have to beg a complete random stranger to save them because their regular soldiers are incapable of doing anything except for hanging around camp saying the same stuff over-and-over again (until you defeat the bad guys and then they suddenly show up, of course).

So anyway, I'm in X-camp doing generic mission. And there is this Nord solider who stands around camp and tells me how honored he is to fight, even though I've never once seem him do anything but stand around and watch *me* fight off in the distance from the safety of his camp. He says he's been with me on several missions, but I don't care. He has the same voice as every other Nord in the game and I'll probably end up slaughtering his whole village at some point to get from VR3 to VR4, so screw him.

So I complete the mission, except for the very last part where I return to the lazy-soldiers' camp for them to thank me for saving their entire army by giving me some piece of crappy armor that I can't even use. Gee thanks. Do you reward your *regular* soldiers so generously--for not fighting, I mean?

But then I get distracted and see a nearby farm and head over there instead. And of course, on said farm there is the aforementioned lazy Nord laying on the ground, begging me to save his wife and kids and blah blah "I'll just wait here for you while you do all the work saving my family" blah blah "Wish I could come with you, but you know, I've got this invisible wound stopping me" blah blah. So I do all the requisite work saving his family. And he rewards me with some useless ring that I'm going to throw in my guild bank junk pile. He finishes thanking me by telling me I'm now part of his clan, come back anytime, you're so awesome, would've helped you in that last boss fight but I've got this bad cold, blah blah.

So anyway, I head back to the lazy soldiers' retirement village to finally claim my crappy piece of armor and listen to assorted excuses from other soldiers as to why they *would* have helped me *but* blah blah. And guess what? There is the lazy Nord once more, just minutes after I left him "wounded" on his farm. Only now, the lying scumbag isn't hurt at all (and no sign of his cold either!). And he tries to play it all off by acting like I'm *not* a member of his clan now and inviting me to visit his farm AS IF WE BOTH DIDN'T JUST COME FROM THERE!

Lying, worthless Nord. I can't wait to single-handedly wipe out a ridiculous number of his clansmen for an achievement point that I'll put into making my armor 2% better.
