Don't understand Guild Traders?

Hi

I went to a guild trader today.
I ran a search and found several things I could use to I double clicked on them.

A dialog came up and it said, "Do you want to buy this item?" for each one, It will cost xxx amount.

I said yes I want to buy the item and it debited my account that amount but the item didn't show up in my inventory.

Is this a bid or am I buying the item.

It didn't say anything about placing a bid, it asked if I wanted to buy it and had a fixed price.

What's going on, will I get my money back if I don't get the item?

    Wait a few minutes for the mail to arrive. Or zone to get it immediately.

    You need to either log out and back in or switch zones for store mail to arrive ...
    ;-)

    You will get any purchases from guild traders or your own guild stores in the mail with an "Item purchased" title.

    Make sure you have room for the mail, the item is attached.

    Guild Store purchases are mailed to you.

    For some reason, items you buy get sent in an email (and often takes forever to get to you). Not sure why they did it this way.

    I never have to wait for Item Purchased emails, I just open my email client (apostrophe key) and zap, it's there. If I don't open my email window, then I do have to wait or change zones to get it to show up.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Hi Guys

    The stuff did arrive.

    I went on with what I was doing and checked once in a while but nothing showed up.

    So I zoned to a different area and there is was in my mail.

    Thanks for the help.

    Of course last night I bought something and it took a few minutes to show up....

    Normally it is right there, but last night it took a while. It was kind of crowded around the merchant, so that could have been it.

    I had the same moment of fear the first time I bought something from a guild trader and the money was taken but the item wasn't in my inventory. Fortunately they showed up via mail soon after, but there was absolutely a period where I didn't know what was going on.
