Breeding mounts

I think it would be cool to be able to breed mounts once you level them to 50. Maybe make the new mount a vet with higher base percentages.

Horse carry the foals for 320 to 340 days before giving birth. Then it takes one to two years for a horse to be big enough to carry a rider and be trained. So, your willing to put in a two year plus commitment to have a young horse?

Or, are we just going to skip all that and have a Cliff Racer show up and drop off the horse?
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I think we could fast forward a few days. Plus it would be based on a day in eso not real life if you wanted it to be that way.

A mechanic which would allow you to trade in 2 level 50 horses, for a horse that could be fed up to level 75 would be cool.

Though the new horse should start at level 1 and need to be fed/trained from scratch. At level 1 the horse should have 3 options to choose from, each being a variation of 20/20/10 starting stats. Only stables in VR zones should be able to offer the trade. This would provide a desirable in-game veteran item, as well provide a time sink to give players a goal to complete.

And inevitably somebody comes in with the science textbook to try and invalidate game mechanics using reality. -_-

I think it's a pretty neat idea, though doesn't seem like something they're likely to add.

See, you do know things about horses! I knew I wasn't completely off-base with my suggestion that because of the connection to the Homeric Nestor you should know all about horses! I feel vindicated! :D

On-topic, I like the idea that @DenverRalphy had. You'd be putting 2 good horses out to pasture as breeding stock in order to get a young horse that will eventually be superior. Not exactly realistic, but a good game mechanic to use as an approximation.

How many game days does it take to level a horse from 1 to 50?

Approx 3 game days per level if you feed the second your horse gets hungry.
That's 150 days, or closer to 200-250 if you sleep at some point.

Since It's a fantasy game, fiction, and; therefore, very loosely based on reality I think leveling a horse from 1-50 would be an adequate interval.

I think this is a cool idea worth some merit.

In real life that is true but we talk about a game right and why can we not do for both AoC and WoW have have this as quest and if i reminder right it take like 30 day to complete that quest in WoW and i not 100% sure but i think it take little longer in AoC but point is it can be done and it wont take 2 year

Well a day in game lasts about 4 hours, so six days per real day. So it would take 4 months of real time to do that.

But horses are supposed to be a gold sink. The only way I could see them doing it, is if it costs gold to breed them.

Of course, since the number of hours in a Tamriel day is but a fraction (c. 25% IIRC) of that of 'real world' days, the number of days would be reduced by around 75%.

Then of course since Tamriel isn't Earth, gestation periods for mammals may also not have to be similar.

LOL. Same thing as saying, building a house take 9 months to 2 years. So, you're willing to put in a two year plus commitments to have a house?
