Remove Former Emporer Perks/Buffs?

michaelb14a_ESO2✭✭✭✭YesI actually think that it shouldn't be a former Emperor buff, but instead a DE-buff. Becoming emp should be exceptionally rare and hard earned achievement. As an Emperor you essentially become a pvp raid boss with how powerful you become. As a fallen (former) Emperor, it makes ZERO sense that there isn't an offset to the power you once had. A relatively significant debuff to a former emp would give a big incentive for an Emperor to keep their seat of power and also to seek to regain it when lost.

However, I would be very disappointed if my Sorcerer, who earned it legitimately prior to the campaign reset, were to lose her title recognition as a result of the farming problem. There's been no emperor farming because those that wanted it so badly that they were wililng to skew the playing field in their favor already got it. Most of those who earned it legitimately either quit or just don't pvp anymore. The wells been poisoned for everyone but the ones running around with former emp are having fun so why should they care why factions are so poorly balanced. Zeni waited too long to address the issue. The new camps did nothing in the end.

By the way, the Emperor (or Former Emperor) title is so associated with non-regal behavior and scamming-to-achieve that seeing it actually makes me suspect the quality of the wearer. I mean, rich kids get a Ferrari, so what? They didn't necessarily earn it, in fact they almost certainly had dad (i.e. Guild) give it to them. Pfft.2 -
Avidus✭✭✭YesUnfortunately there existence of the buffs means that players will not play the game properly.
Even if a person earns emp legitimately, even if they defend it properly.
Once they lose it, its time to drop off the leader board so the next in line can have it.
Or you get some hardcore guilds that use defense ticks from defending to ensure the next emperor is part of their guild.
Emperor has become completely meaningless.
Former emperor is more valuable.
I think perhaps if Cyrodiil had a slight rework to make it more sandboxy, it might actually fix the problem.
Or even just fix the rewards system.0 -

(see comments)What they need to do is if you get emperer it takes your score back to zero, that way everyone can have a far shot at it, and a 5 day cool down until you can be the first in the leadership board if you get it back up let them keep the buffs and the former title, and keep resets and scrolls being returned to there bases every 5 days so people don't hoard them by chaging it to were I have said it it would stop a lot of the emperior farming. and be good for those that want the empererPC NA
