I know this has been brought up before, but I really would like to see another 2 ability slots on each bar. I know we can swap bars, but there are also people out there not doing so. It's not something that I feel will ruin the game if not implemented, as I already enjoy combat. But with all of these abilities at hand and Spell Crafting in development, it would be great to have another 2 abilities slots per bar.

I would like a Toggle slot for summons and toggles.

I would also like a Trophy slot for trophies and passive pets.

I would like to see 2 more ability slots on each bar.

Mostly because I'm using Mage's Light. It's pretty much essential for a caster or a healer.

1 or 2 more on each bar or 2 general slots which never change with weapon swap. These wouls actually be very useful on togleable abilities like pets or spells that give bonus when slotted and such.

I like that it forces me to pick and choose to prioritize what I want to use in a given situation. If I can foresee the type of fights I will be getting into I will swap out skills to be more effective.

No. Learn to play and use the slots we have available. A new poll is made about this every week....

And every time, more people vote no than yes. Quite a few more...

If you read the posts, you will notice that 99% of the yes votes are from mages or others who want their pets and mage light out at the same time, and still want to have 5 more slots available.

Weapon swapping as a combat mechanic was the dumbest idea ever. They should have done a full bar, 12 slots, with out of combat swapping just as a utility. Swapping should have been character profiles that allow you to swap armor, weapon and skills all with the touch of a button so that if I need to quickly switch to tanking from a dps profile I can.

No because limited slots means you have to plan and actually think about what it is you want to do. You need to better understand each skill and how it is going to work with the others you have slotted.

Nope. I like the 5 limit even as I curse it at times heh. It makes for some variety and planning vs so many other MMO's where everyone can run around with 1 set up that covers every potential scenario

I get tired of having to 'tune' my powers by the situation.

We have mana and stamina to keep our abilities for being profligately spammed.

Guild Wars 2 has 10 spots with specific choices and criteria for what can go into many of the spots. This works.

Given the skill system I do not see build diversity going down with more spots.

As was sugested, maybe a second row of 5, that could only be used for pets, and other non direct damage spells. Mage Light, circle of protection, and any others. the second or bottom row could be fixed so that it stays the same as weapons swap out. This would preserve the current 5 attack powers that swap back and forth with the weapon and give some flexibility in making even more diverse builds.

to spell it out, I am thinking two rows of 5 boxes + the one ultimate box.

    The top row would be exactly as we have it now, the bottom row would be fixed and not change with weapon swap and be usable with powers like;

    Light armor - Annulment
    Medium armor - Evasion
    Heavy Armor - Immovable
    Vampire - Mist Form
Fighters Guild - Circle of protection
Mages Guild - Magelight / Equilibrium

And all other non-direct damage skills/spells

This would allow for more diverse builds, allow for new skills and skill lines that are not just new ways of making damage numbers and give people some more flexibility in adding under used powers with out compromising offence.

I expect with the armor ones specifically to keep them from being abused they should only be active when 5 or more pieces of that armor line are equipped.

Right now I suppose someone could put all 3 on their skill bar and be very well protected.

The opinions and thoughts of mage players are not important and should not count? Not that I agree with your statement.... even though with 8 character slots pretty much everyone in the game is by default a mage player.

Ok i feel special as im the only one so far to choose other, but i thought about this the other day. When spell crafting is released we will have an abundance of new spells at our disposal, so i can understand the whole yes more slots, but my proposal is somewhat different. Currently when it comes to permanent buffs there are what 5 maybe 6 in the whole game. most of which are in the sorcerer daedric summoning spell line. However, when spell crafting comes out this will change. So, i chose other because 5 slots is actually more than enough for active abilities, any more and you never seem to have enough magicka or stam. I do propose a new type of slot though. well 2 of them actually. These 2 slots are a lot like ultimate in only certain spell types can go into them. These spells are always on abilities.

In every other game i always created a separate side bar for buffs. Mainly because i use a game pad i i dont want to accidentally cast a buff when i want a spell, sadly with ESO i have on several occasions accidentally turned off my buffs because well im forced to put them on my main abilities bar. So, that is why i thought with the release of spellcrafting it might be nice to say add 2 extra slots that can only take certain spells like the always on buffs. This system would both increase the number of spells but at the same time keep them limited. the 2 extra slots can only hold permanent duration spells like say a pet or armor buff, and nothing else can be added to it, much like nothing can be put in ultimate besides ultimate. We all know that buffs will be common place come spell crafting, who doesnt want more armor, but do we really need more everything slots no. i think 5 plus ult is already a lot when i really look at it.

On my templar i have both his healing and dps built beautifully around 5 spells. would i like buffs yea, but there are none really, my sorc is a completely different story. my summoned pet dies way too rapidly, so i gave up on that, i have inner light a must for a caster imo, i have surge, which also seems to be a must unless i go dark magic because mage has no healing ability whatsoever and low health because of massive magicka consumption means that you need heals of some sort, which has also lead to me kinda needing to use bound armor in order to stay alive for more than 1 hit. this leave me with 2 usable slots on my sorc. so even currently with the 2 buff only slots i could put say inner light and bound armor in there and free up 2 slots for something that adds more utility and not just survivability.

so to sum up: for those that dont want to read all that,

No, to more anything slots, but yes to 2 limited usage slots that allow only permanent duration spells such as pets and buffs

Yeah, because in-combat swapping is so useless. Like in fights where melee need to switch to DPS, or a DPS needs to quickly switch to a resto staff to throw out heals, or any other number of situations where being able to swap weapons/ability sets on the fly is extremely helpful.

Hi! No, it would highly unbalance the game. 10 slots, 2 ultimate, and 1 Quickslot is moooore then enough.

In fact, by having more good skills to use in your skill bar, but have to choose a combination, creates creativity and makes the game more interesting what to use in which situation.

I like to have to think! Kinda lost how to do that by years of WoW, but its coming back to me!

Considering I only really use 3 slots in my travels through the V-zones, the extra 2 plus Ult are already there for me if I need them.

But, I don't mind if other people would prefer more.

well i dont need "additional" slots - a simple change from 2x (5+1) to 10+2 slots without qbar swap when switching weapons would help (atleast me) alot. without changing the system too much.
as it would fix the needed double slotting of toggle abilities and redundand slotting of abilitys to compensate qb-switch lags/bugs.

They made it necessary by forcing the limited bar space, not that what you said makes any sense. Melee switching to dps, what? If grinding you determine your needs by quickly surveying your opponents and swap to another weapon if necessary. If raiding you already have a set role and shouldn't need to take on another players role yourself. You swap based on each individual encounter.

I frequently think that's it not so much the number of slots in and of itself that makes the system feel so limited and unengaging as the almost complete lack of synergy between abilities; The Secret World has a similar system, without the active weapon swapping, but assembling the action bar felt much more engaging and meaningful because of the ways the abilities interacted.

I don't mind having one or two extra skills on the bar. Swapping weapons mid fight in this game, for some reason, is a tedious/annoying job, So I usually like to have everything I need on one bar. I switch weapons only if the fight goes from AOE to Single.

I don't think that is the point. Most MMO's provide 120 slots. Saying that providing only 12 slots is to force a difficult choice is grossly understating the reality of the situation. Of course most MMO's also require a lot more skills to be effective so perhaps there is an equal ratio of slot bar to number of skills between this MMO and others.
