Who else thinks 1.4 is already a failure apart from the Arena and the Serpent Trial?

Craglorn is a failure. I have to sit there for hours to find people to group to do quests...and some quests are so long ppl drop off...so whos going to help me finish half a quest.

I'm pretty sure the new trial and 4 man content in 1.4 were created at or around the same time as the stuff in lower craglorn and were simply staged to release later, when they were ready for another content patch (upper crag). The arena is probably the part they have been working on recently and is pretty much the best part of the patch.

I just don't think they are going to scrap content that has likely been hanging around waiting for Upper Crag release to tide over the people that have been waiting for new content.

I dont know what u r talking about.Craglorn dead?I spend a lot of time in Crag and since the time I log in I cant stop doing many activities.Always get people to run quests and delves. Then take my time solo to gather mats, chests.Take my time alone to solo some delves(yes i am a op dk tank with awesome builds that allow me to solo some delves, anomalies) also form groups for delves to raise skills and practice new builds (just maxed and practiced DK healing) also im always looking at chat for vet dungeons and in crag is good since most of those grops are high level which make the run faster.Cant get bored with Crag specially when im ALWAYS making or joining groups.I socialize with them a lot, help them, get friend requests, get invited to guilds.Thats 1 of the purposes of the zone to play with others and socialize.

What you say OP is totally false. It looks like you go to Crag to play solo.Maybe you are a little shy.You say in a reply that you stand in delves door and notice there is no one there and that may make u think the zone is dead(also maybe u r playing at low population hours). No man,use that chat.Take initiative and you will find many things to do and many people to group(not just the grinding group, thats boring). If you are a solo player and u are bashing Crag because you dont group and cant do the content, well you have a lot of solo content to do,stay there, which i dont recomend, what i recomend is for you to start using chat and join groups,or better, get leadership and form groups.

Im having a lot of fun in Craglorn mainly cause Im ALWAYS grouping and I haven't started doing Trials yet thats another thing to add to my fun.Cant wait for the adventure zone expansion.More grouping fun.My only complain about 1.4 is that i think is to early to add 2 more levels and that I would have like it more if instead of Upper Craglorn they do another area.Nevertheless its more adventure zone which I love.Socialize my friend and stop doing sucky posts like this one.

Pardon my english is second language.

Easy, look: LFM people for X Y quest(mention roles if u think u need specific roles) do that in zone chat and in your guilds then lead them.I do,I never have to "sit there for hours to find people to group to do quests"

The 1,4 content only exists on the PTS but I am already going to call the content outside of the Arena and the Serpent Trial an unmitigated failure.

Let's say I have a group of 4 players, maybe even just 3 players. How will I spend my time in the new section of Craglorn? Will I spend it with my group completing laughably easy quests and delves for very underwhelming rewards? Or will my group head to the Arena which is new and unlike anything else in the game, is fun to play, is very challenging and offers much better rewards? Whatever will I do?

We're still a couple of weeks from the release of 1.4 and 80% of the zone's new content will be ignored just like ZOS does with those feedback tickets we submit in-game.

Seriously, who was the genius at ZOS who thought it would be a good idea to create and release a ton of group content at the same time as the Arena, especially given the stunning failure of the group content in the original Craglorn update?

Sadly to say and I hate to sound like a troll but 1.4 imo is a waste of time and resources. I've read over a lot of posts and many of the player base are unhappy with what we are getting in 1.4. I'm beginning to feel that Zos is not listening to their player base as they claim they do but thats just my 2 cents. However, there are a couple of things in the patch that I'm looking forward to but very little tbh.

Keep in mind that "many of the player base" is a relative term and measured by means other than forum traffic. Often the case, there are far more people who play a game than post on the forums for a game, so the sample of voices here is not exactly representative of a majority opinion either way.

That being said, I think that the OP is premature as are others here in stating that 1.4 is a failure considering it is still in PTS - there is no getting around the facts, which are that every expansion turns into something different after it it hits the live server. It could very well flop as some say, but it could also potentially add a great breath of life to the game. People should just chill and see where the chips fall. I know that is what I will be doing. :)

I said this months ago . this team has little to no control over the end game. Its bucking around like a wild horse. They should not even consider releasing new content until the balance is addressed for melee and armor builds other then light, the 4 man Vr dungeons re scaled and reitemized. all they are doing is throwing buggy exploitable content that has no reward vs crafted.

the end game is in a perpetual state of eating itself with devalued group content. Poor balance, and a very foggy direction. trials are zerggy and exploitable. they dont offer true casual guild progression with the limited res,and the nature of them is to blow through the mechanics for a faster time. Not looking good for longevity i tell ya

I could care less for the new content. It would be nice if I didn't to have to log Off and On again at least once in every game session since April.

ESO catch phase should be "Did you log off and on again?"

Something like the IT Crowd catch phrase:

Did you turn it off and on again?

I think many players will enjoy the Arena and the raiders will enjoy the Serpent Trial. I purposely excluded them in my thread title and original post.

However, the bulk of the update - being the new quests and delves in the expanded version of Craglorn - is going to go over like a lead balloon. Players do not play or complete the current group quests and delves in the existing version of Craglorn. I honestly have no idea why ZOS thought we needed more content for people to ignore and skip when a sizable chunk of the player base (the solo/duo players and the PVP crowd) are both clamoring for more content and for some unknown reason, ZOS is completely ignoring them. I honestly do not understand this decision from a business perspective.

I am not skipping content nor are the people I play with. We are completing it and having fun. There are many people doing that. If they have not said so here on these forums it does not mean it doesn't happen - as I said in the first part of my post which you did not include above: the majority of voices in forums are seldom representative of the whole player base in a game since many more people just play than they post.

As is, there are a lot of people in Craglorn that I have no doubt will be interested in the coming zone content, not just the area or trials. If you disagree that if fine with me. Point is, calling something a failure for ALL is not the same as calling it a failure for you.

It won't fix any of the Endgame issues currently in the game, it will just be a Craglorn release and a grind all over again.

I went to Craglorn a few weeks ago because I was invited by one of my guilds. We went to just have fun. It was my first time there and we did part of the Trial. I wasn't ready for Craglorn given my VR level and skill base, but they wanted me to go anyway, so I did.

We had fun and after awhile everyone went their separate way. I soloed for a bit and decided to save this zone for another time.

Craglorn is not dead. Some of us are just waiting to do it later when we feel we are ready.

The more content the better. I will do it later, because I'm not in a hurry.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.
Is the glass half full or half empty?
I say, "Get a smaller glass."

I think when ppl say that Craglorn is dead means that its a ghost town. Sure u may see a hand full of players out there but not many to the point that it doesnt feel like an mmo. Everytime I go to Craglorn I see just the grind groups running and maybe 3-4 players as I run around the zone = dead imo.

The reason why is because the end game pve content is not what players really want. When I first heard of Trials I thought, oh cool finally some end game raiding but unfortunately that is not what happened. The whole Trial system should be scrapped and they should implement a standardized raid system with decent loot. Until this happens I probably wont even bother with pve so that just leaves pvp and one can only do so much pvp before that gets old.

So sad to say things are not looking to good for ESO if the devs continue down this path. Its a shame really cuz I really wanted this game to succeed, its graphically beautiful and has so much potential but the devs are failing at execution.

I'll not play Craglorn on live before a long while I suppose (still leveling and enjoying every bit of it) but I played a lot on the PTS with ZiggsRG and some guildies are we had tons of fun to explore the delves and the Dungeons.

I know a lot of player only play to get rewards, but I suppose I must not be the only alien to enjoy playing the game, cause ....its fun. I mean, I couldn't care less about the reward in a Dungeon, what I enjoy is the experience.
