I think you meant to post this in the WS forums and got confused ;)

I see a lot of people on the NA server even off-peak (I play for EU) but as many said with the mega server it's hard to tell the population, but it looks healthy

    Just play and have fun

I had the same experience. I came back online, and it astonished me; more than 40 people on my friend list were greyed out. Only one of them remained active.

The guild was dead and I was the only one around. I'm sure more people came in, but all of those people are gone.

    yeap, same feeling.

not only do we not "appear" to have population issues, on the contrary, i think that a further splitting/instancing of the zones is in need. More instances per zone, divided the player base a touch more :)
Excluding that one dungeon (with no incentive whatsoever to do it again, ever) per area, the game pretty much motivates you to go solo.
[ non-player instanced crates/chests+nodes (ie the unhealthy competition), no group areas/quests prior to V+, a strictly solo-centric story line that extends to many, many hours, etc ]
The above entail 'a' limit upon the number of people existing concurrently. For me anyway. Too many miling about, way the game is right now, it takes something out

Do not forget that a lot of players are slow poke in ESO and even if they have started to play at release (like me ) they are still leveling and are in the lower zone.

My guild was in "sleep mode" in June and July due to Wildstar release and Hollidays, but we have seen the activity and dynamism rising up a lot lately! So I'd say that people are coming back ... I've confidence for ESO!

VR levels are twice as populated as last month.. That's to the level that I ran by 2 people in a 5 hour play sessions last month. Now I run by 4.... This game will not make it. If you're betting on it.. You will lose. but something already tells me everyone reading this knows better than to bet on this game.\

No matter what crap fest they spew between that.

Most people have left because they have completed most of the content and don't really want to try out new updates I guess. Players leave then new players join. But I have been playing since release.

No I disagree.. Most left because of being forced to do content that is incomprehensible as a substitute for real game play. Like being forced to complete the entire leveling grind quests of all 3 factions.. Only a moron would think of that.. then theres common since. If this company is so dumb to do that to us... WHY THE *** should anyone stay around to see whats next...

Hahah and here you have..... Every class will be the same with spell crafing...

Youre talking nonsense theory crafting.. what are you in first place.. You pretended that I was instantly a mage.. So obviously you must be a mage right? Are you taking a complete stamina weapons build? Are you getting abilities from all the weapons lines to pounce my mage... Because im f'ing laugh if your gonna spell craft a bunch of stamina sht...

You know you're not.. You know youre gonna get those class abilities that make a class a class and make yourself a hybrid, right? I do not need to argue this and break it down for you. If you cant fathom the stealth openers from a NB skill doing 2k into ... NO one is going to get that.. right.. WTF should anyone open from stealth with a 2k crit?? right? Yeah.. Youre right... we're all gonna make mages that you''ll 3 shot and laugh at, right..? Moron...... Everyone will have everything that matter... Faceless Game. Moron developers..

That's right. They're all morons. Everyone who disagrees with you is a moron. The developers are morons. Everyone!

No, the game's subscriber numbers are currently hovering around 800,000 and rising, so it's a healthy population at the moment.
Wildstar's subscribers, on the other hand, are almost half that amount, and all their servers are apparently dead.

Not much in the way of new solo content for me so I am letting my sub expire. If what is left for me doesn't appeal, it makes no sense to pay every month for content that is months away. Maybe I come back but I really doubt it.

There's always an initial rush of players when a game launches, and after the free month is up there's always a (large) group of players that quit for various reasons.

The population is pretty healthy though. There's definitely not a lack of players, and while yes there are probably less players now than there were at launch, I'd say the game is going pretty strong. Just find yourself some new friends to play with, there's plenty of people around. :)

With phasing it is really hard to tell whether the game is busy or not. If they want to make areas feel lightly populated, they can do that. If they want people to feel like turkeys in a turkey coop, they can cram people in until all that can be seen is a sea of heads.

With that said, and with the understanding that it is easy to be fooled, there was a period during and after the initial 30-35 days where they lost a ton of people. Many people were just looking anyway and ESO was clearly not their game. Others wanted something else that ESO was not providing. Still others were put off by bugs or other factors.

I figure they definitely had more than a million players during April and that this dropped into the hundreds of thousand during May. I expect that around the 30 or 60 days mark they hit a subscription and player low point.

Since then, I think that the numbers have been steadily climbing as more people try the game. Not everyone who buys the game will stick around. To the contrary, some have no intention of sticking around. Some players purchase the game, perhaps on sale, and decide to play until they run out of free time, cancel, and figure they got something for the initial investment. That is all they wanted, and all they got, and they are happily elsewhere.

We are probably no longer inside the Steam release bubble as it has been 30 days since the Steam release and most of the people who jumped on it during the sale have used up their free time.

I think ESO retains a large bubble of players from that event. The world is definitely busier now than it was even at the end of July. I cannot speak for Craglorn, but Stonefalls, Deshaan, Auridon, and Glenumbra are busy. These are all places I have recently been leveling new characters.

Granted, phasing makes it virtually impossible to tell server population. The area might have hundreds of people in it, but are those the only people in the area or are there actually thousands there? Zenimax can fool us easily, or not at all.

Population today means nothing tomorrow, either. People drop in and out of subscription MMOs all the time. Real life gets in the way, especially around vacation and holidays. Money issues get in the way and they use the money for other things.

I stopped playing after they nerffed the difficulty in vet. They did it because they thought it was too hard for the whiney rp'ers who wanted to play in first person and wear armour that made them look cool and use abilities based on how good the animation looked. At the time I argued that it wasn't the difficulty but the fact that it was a boring grind that was the issue. They did it anyway and judging from this thread it made no difference, apart from driving those of us who actually want a challenge away. Vet is still empty and the game in now ruled by role players. Its no longer a game its a medieval version of second life. It had such potential but every decision ZoS has made regarding the direction has been a mistake for me.

Did you copy/paste one of my posts from another thread? You even used the Secondlife reference that I've used in arguments.

I stopped playing about after a month. I've been thinking hard about what game I want to dedicate the next couple months to as the winter comes. I've decided to come back to ESO. I like games where you can be social and interact with a team to take out targets, or you can just zone out on your own and still have a great time. I've played oblivion and skyrim a lot, And i think the developers did an amazing job making a MMO in the Elder Scrolls world. This game does not deserve the harsh criticism and I'll be coming back this weekend.

I think this game NEEDS more classes. That would take this game to new heights. But that's a topic for a different discussion. They created a great base and I can't wait to see what else they come up with. With the support of good customers and the respect for our opinions and ideas from devs and managers, this game should only get better.

Considering summer is normally trotted out as the low peak season in gaming, the trading guild I belong to has seen simultaneous online members rising from 85-95 to 95-105 this month.

Members kicked for inactivity (we allow 25 days) has also slowed to a trickle, as such I have even put people on a waiting list before being able to offer them an open spot.

When I read of other players' experiences in trading guilds, I am really thankful that I happened to touch lucky in early access.

No, we're still there:) Vet zones actually became a LOT more populated after their nerf. Not quite as populated as non-vet zones, but you can actually see people around them now, and vet 10 Rawl'Kha is amazingly lively at any time of day and night(and yes, I know some people just farm motif there, but still).

Some people left - be it because of many mistakes Zeni certainly did make, real life issues or just because they didn't find what they were looking for in the game - but new people came, too. I'd say that the population probably is lower than at the release, with all the "OMG NEW GAME"+free month fuss, but it's not THAT low.
