Question about Vampirism

Probably a dumb question but;

Why do Vampires have a weakness to fire in this game? I know in lore they do, but when doing the quest to get vampire it specifically shows the lead Vamp being made from fire.

I am sure there will be plenty of -- you stupid idiot or whatever comments but I do not care. The fact that the main Vamp becomes a Vamp from being burned shows her to be more of a phoenix to me.

    Lamae is a different vampire to you, and the Morrowind vampires were a different breed to the Cyrodiil breed, and Skyrim vampires. There are many different types of vampires, all with different strengths and weaknesses.

    I don't know if you played Dawnguard for example, but those vampire were able to change into giant bat like creatures.

    Here, read this book; found in-game. If you haven't already. It explains your question better than I can. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Immortal_Blood

    I think it's a valid question. Lamae, the vampire all player character vampires descend from (I don't actually like that but that's another post) walks through a wall of flame upon her creation. Yet vampires are horribly weak to fire. I think this was an instance of the devs just not thinking things through and going, "Oh! Neato animation! Looks very impressive!" Now Lamae is a badass literal Daughter of Coldharbour, made by Molag Bal himself, not just "infected" by some other vamp, so maybe it's meant to show that SHE can withstand things her "children" cannot. But my money is on the devs just not stopping to think.

    One could argue, since Lamae has Molag Bal's own blood inside her, she has some kind of immortality.
    Porphyric Hemophilia
    Known as the "vampire's disease", Porphyric Hemophilia will become vampirism after a three day incubation period. By itself, the disease affects the victim's stamina, but on the third night of infection the victim will die and become undead. The disease can easily be cured within the three-day period, but vampirism is notoriously hard to cure. The disease is similar to the less-common Sanguinare Vampiris and Noxiphilic Sanguivoria.

    Sanguinare Vampiris
    Similar in nature to Porphyric Hemophilia and Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, victims of the less-common Sanguinare Vampiris will become vampires after a three day incubation period. By itself, the disease negatively affects the victim's health, but on the third night of infection the victim will die and become undead. The disease can easily be cured within the three-day period, but vampirism is notoriously hard to cure. Sanguinare Vampiris is found in the province of Skyrim.

    Noxiphilic Sanguivoria
    Noxiphilic Sanguivoria is a strain of vampirism that was common during the Second Era. Unlike other vampiric diseases such as Porphyric Hemophilia and Sanguinare Vampiris, vampires of the Noxiphilic Sanguivoria strain are not weakened by daylight, but are instead strengthened during the night. Complete transmission of the disease requires that a vampire not only bite his or her victim, but also drain the victim's blood and replace it with the vampire's own. If the victim can escape before this process can be completed, the disease can be treated by a priest of Arkay.
