I started a new alt about a week ago and I just hit lvl 40 today, I've been amazed at how many people are in game at the moment.
After playing in vet zones for the last 3 months I got used to not seeing many people but in 1-50 zones it feels packed, multiple other players on every quest, WB, Dolmen, and delve. To be honest, at times it feels a little over crowded.
I'm on the EU server so I don't know how this compares to NA.

And after Craglorn appeared, vet zones were virtual ghost towns until Craglorn loot and experience were nerfed hard. But I've noticed a big upswing in population over the last month. You can get a pretty good idea how busy it is by visiting banks.
I stopped playing a month after release due to work issues. Recently came back and really enjoying the game and the upcoming changes look great as well. However, All my friends and entire guild seem to have quit. Has this game suffered a massive drop in players?

Everyone is either in Craglorn or in Cyrodiil. Nothing much to do really, waiting for the future content.

I think this is a big issue, in most MMO's you find a guild that you feel comfortable with and they become your friends through the game. You party up for dungeons, raids, higher level content. With the multi guild system I don't think that same sense of belonging is forming with guilds and this is also not enticing people (solo players predominately) to even try some of the group content.
