Anyone have a Templar healer that can also fight build?

MrHemlocks
Does anyone have a PvP, Templar healer/fighter combo build that we can look at? I am tired of getting owned with my Templar in PvP, he can not compete with the DPS caster or melee types like a NB. Nor can he be god-like the DK.

Time to face the truth. The Templar is good at one thing, least so far in the game, and that is support (heals, buffs/defufs & moderate damage). So, why do many players try to become DPS Templars...waste effort. We need to augment our support skill. When Templars stop trying to out DPSing casters and EVERYONE else they might have a better chance in PvP.

Any Templar healer/fighter builds? Not just a build that uses DPS attacks and second bar few a heals added in for versatility.

I’m in the process of making a battle cleric/warrior priest-inspired character as a break from my v12 Nightblade tank. Mind you, she's currently only 37 and her abilities are still in flux. Will she be fun in the veteran campaigns? I have no idea. Is she fun in the non-veteran campaign? Very much.

I can list what I’m running so far, but remember this is both experimental and not final. It’s just what I’ve thrown together for the time being/what I had access to at the time.

    Armor: 5 Heavy, 2 Light
    Armor Traits: All impenetrable
Weapons: Maul (for flavor reasons), Restoration Staff
    Weapon Traits: Weighted, Defending
    Set Bonuses: 5-piece Seducer’s, 3-piece Alessia’s Bulwark (would prefer 5-piece Warlock)

Primary Skill Bar (Melee): Radiant Aura, Stampede, Executioner, Puncturing Sweep (will replace with Sun Shield once unlocked), Unstoppable, [Remembrance/Empowering Sweep] (depends on mood/situation)

Secondary Skill Bar (Healing): Purifying Ritual, Mutagen, Combat Prayer, Honor the Dead, Ward Ally, [Solar Prison]

My play style with this character really depends on the situation and group makeup. If we’re light on heals, I tend to stay in the backline or midline and use my healing bar to heal/cure/ward while ranging any targets of opportunity.

If I’m feeling frisky and catch someone busy or alone, I’ll switch to my maul, pop Unstoppable, Stampede my way into the target, and begin the melee. More often than not, I’ll take the target down, particularly if they weren’t expecting the healer to suddenly rush into them.

If we’re heavy on healers I tend to stay in the midline and use my melee bar to either rush down targets of opportunity or follow tanks into the fray. I prefer to avoid the frontline unless I’m confident in my support to keep me up, though I suspect this will become less risky once I have Sun Shield.

Again, I’m in no way claiming this to be an uber build, but she’s been a lot of fun in the non-veteran campaign.

you can almost out tank DKs with the 3 abilities at the end of the 3 trees alone. so templars may not be the best dps but you can survive for ever as a templar. also adding circle of protection from fighters guild and having a few healing spells on same skill bar you wont die or at least you shouldnt.

Ive got a god mode templar i use when i need a break from stealth

oh and i run 4 light and 3 heavy for the magicka regen.

Run 7 Light armor pieces, two being Warlocks, five Impenetrable Seducer set and 3 Warlocks jewelry pieces with Spell damage.

    Bar 1 - 1H/Shield:
    - Invasion
    - Reflective light/Vampire's Bane
    - Puncturing Sweep
    - Immovable
    - Blazing Shield
    - Ultimate: Soul Assault/Empowering Sweep

    Bar 2 - Restoration staff
    - Blazing Spear
    - Honor the Dead
    - Extended Ritual/Rapid Regeneration
    - Purge
    - Caltrops/Degeneration(Mages guild)
    - Ultimate: Nova

This is mixed healing and damage build. If you're running with a group, swap the Extended Ritual/RR with Healing Springs. If you're solo, leave it as it is.

Bar 1 relies strictly on melee, you want to make sure you give your target no room to breathe, keep it always slowed with Reflective Light/Vampires Bane, (it also adds a good damage overtime which is not blocked), keep charging with Invasion and spam those Puncturing Sweeps on it. Keep Immovable on if you want to (always on if you're good on stamina and not sure when to block enemy) and Blazing Shield if target is staying in melee range or if you're below 60-70% health (swap bar for big heal, if you need). This is more of a 1v1 build, you cannot lose if you plan your skills right.

Bar 2 is more for against zergs and healing, swap some skill out for Blazing Shield if planning to take on a zerg.

Good luck and don't lose hope on the Templar!
