Oh Zenimax...

So I was wandering through Bangkorai today and was about to turn in a quest to this Orc dude (I had found the quest in a delve). I go up to talk to him and this is what happens...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-DJGrgmqfc&feature=youtu.be

Whilst funny, I thought this should probably be brought to Zenimax's attention.

It's the drastic sudden voice change in the middle of the NPC's lines.

Subscription cancelled due to the following facts:

    - Zenimax implements more bugs from patch to patch
    - Zenimax does not care about the increasing instability of the game. People have more and more crashes Fix of memory bug decreased number of crashes considerably
    - Zenimax has still not fully fixed the fps drops they (!) implemented with patch1.2.3
    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP
    - Zenimax gives more attention to unnecassary 'content' like dyes for armors than fixing issues
    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns
    - Support is ineffective and does not even speak in a way one can linguistically understand

Yes, and from replaying other quests in AD with 2nd and 3rd 'toons I've seen multiple times where a scene is initially played out fine, but weeks later on another play-through a seemingly good scene becomes some nasty mash-up of the original voice work with a 2nd voice of completely different voice/tone/timbre/volume/accent that it leaves one wondering:
    "WTF?"

And I hate when that happens.
    Really.

This happens to me when I decide to do the tutorial in the prison. When you get out, the Prophet's voice changes.

Orc strongholds, Malacath is a tough taskmaster, meh, I can take it. Daedra prisons, nasty stuff, I'll do what Sai Sahan does. Actors availability and fees, yikes, like St Veloth's chastity belt I give up, let Hugo in packing voice it.

Thank you, @jpredwards10b16_ESO. The one you called out in the video is indeed a bug and will be fixed.

Jpred....Thank you...since teams of developers never take time to actually test things and since the few hundred of other bugs about this have been ignored...and since we don't have to pay you to point out issues in the game....but you pay us....All we can say is it will be fixed...but we can't give a specific date...here's a white ring lvl 2 for doing such a great job....it's people like you who point out the things we miss...While still paying our salaries....not only by doing a job that someone here should have done in the 7 years of development but by your continued financial support....

Curious; when i see these things I often hit f1 and post a bug report and place it in a category i think is best. Is that something your team looks at or is it better to make a vid and post it here?

I've encountered this as well in an AD quest in Gratwood. Be sure to submit in game feedback when you encounter stuff like this too.

I've noticed the sudden voice change in a few quests. As soon as I saw who you were talking to in the video I knew exactly what was coming... Kind of hilarious, but it also completely destroys your immersion in that moment.

First time i did those quests in Glenumbra with all the Wyrd guardian stuff speaking german i thought they were supposed to do that for some reason as they kinda mumbled a bit i just thought it was a funny accent.. Then i saw someone mention it in chat and was like "Hmm... oh yer!"

    @Dekkameron
When I first heard it I didn't even know It was German (I know I know stupid right) I thought it was a made up language. I realized it was German after hearing about it on the forums.

Indeed, this is why using known actors for pre-release hype always backfires long-term, and sometimes leads to the abandonment of voice acting altogether after the initial release.

Either way, short-term 'sexiness' in hearing voices you know and having names like John Cleese appear on marketing fluff, give way to a jarring in-game experience ever-after.

Hell, as the Prophet so clearly shows, much re-writing on that NPC's lines took place long after Gambon did the original voice acting so the badly jarring moments occur even in the first few minutes of a player's first encounter with the game.

Because after beta finished they added on this strange part where we end up on the mainland first rather than washing up on an island or alike (ie the place you travel to when you head to a ship), no idea why it was much cooler and made more sense how they had it.

I'm guess it was for people that didn't want to be on the starter areas for alts.

So, basically they probably couldn't afford or couldn't get Michael Gambon to do the new dialog they had to add.

I stopped listening to NPCs talk about level 50. Just couldn't take the same voices being used over and over. I'd rather have 300 non-professionals people doing voiceovers instead of 25 professionals.
