It might sound crazy Zenimax but I would really like to READ THE BOOK ITSELF.

    Im not in game so I cant check but im pretty sure its either under lore books or idetic memory.

    If you complete the Mage Guild quest line you get a reward called Eidetic Memory from Shalidor that lets you read all books you have ever looked at including Motif's, Lore Books, Papers, and random crap on Bookshelves.

    Nope, you can't read your own racial motif book. I was about to post about it too, since I have Eidetic Memory now, I wanted to work on completing my crafting book sets, but how in the world can we complete it if we can't read our own racial motif book? :\

    Yeah. And the sucky part is I'm a Dark Elf, and Dunmer have always interested me for some reason. The fact that I cant read books about them because I am one just put a slight damper on my mood.

    Yeah I just encountered this myself after blowing 350g on a Breton book >< Note, Zenimax; some of your customers are COMPLETIONISTS.

    During beta this one was able to read a Khajiit style book.
    It was probably added an lock so you could not read books you knew to not waste them. Best option would be that you read the style book but just read it like a normal book from quests in inventory, so it would not consume it.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Let me help you with that. I can't read the motif for my own race see how easy it is to make it clear? What you posted is the message you would only get if you had tried to read your own motif book .. so it seems you tried to be as unclear as possible in some strange elitist way.
