This is a post for potential new comers to the game and those who are just starting out. I have played this game since beta and will share why you should avoid this product.
In the beginning.....the experience you will encounter from levels 1-50 will be the best this game has to offer. the story line is great, the quests are easy mode and with the new changes to armor sets, etc, you will face roll this with ease. Enjoy it. Because thats all this game has to offer.
After defeating the god of schemes (you can do this while naked and fist fighting) and you receive your prize thats comparable to any average npc drop, the game goes downhill.
In the middle.....You start veteran levels. This is merely an after thought designed to give you "busy" work. You are dumped in the opposing faction like you are just starting. You retain none of your previous relationships or experiences. its strictly as if you rolled another character for another faction. that is all.
Now, you do have the ability to completely skip this part and go straight to Craglorn (Zos's utter failure of a group zone.) This is nothing but a grind fest. Running from one location to the other over and over and over and over and killing the exact same thing over and over and over and over until you hit veteran rank 12. If you think I'm exaggerating, I'm not.
At the end.....At this point you may ask your self, "well I'm at the end game, now what?" Well, ZoS has given you 2 options. You can run the 2 end game raids or pvp.
The 2 raids are completed with ease and take an average of 11-15 mins depending on your group. The gear you get from them is nothing special and there is no bonus from actually running them. In other words, farming the 2 raids which are suppose to take group coordination doesn't give you anything to separate you from the average solo player.
PVP.....ahhh now we come to the part of Cyrodiil, the player vs player zone. Be prepared to deal with multiple client crashes, fps issues, lag, rubber banding, inability to attack other players, unable to swap weapons, unable to interact with keep doors, health bars not syncing, and a gigantic host of exploits and cheats. In most cases, its unplayable.
To be effective in Cyrodiil. you must be a vampire, and you either have to be a sword and board templar or dragon knight, OR you can be a sorc light armor/ destro staff player with impulse. Both need to have bats. If you are anything else. your doing it wrong. (Although I have seen an increase of bow night blades coming in to take advantage of the damage exploit.)
Due to the skills having no cool down, macros are king. be prepared to explode from 100% health to dead in less then 3 secs. There are a lot of single attacks that hit you for 33%+ of your health (and thats with 3k+ health) mix that with unbreakable cc's and perma stuns and lag, programming a simple 3 to 4 hit macro will destroy anyone in less then 2-3 secs.
A lot of current fan boys will try to tell you how they are fixing these problems and the road ahead will bring better balance and better gaming. Don't listen to them. All you have to do is go back in the games patch notes and see how they say they have fixed the same problems over and over and over and over but have not.
Its not all bad though. ZoS does do one thing FLAWLESSLY and with INCREDIBLE ACCURACY - and thats taking the $15 a month from your credit card. I have NEVER experienced a single issue or bug at all with them taking that $15. Nor have I experienced any issue where a bug gave me free game time. ever. At least we know and can rest assured that if there were any such bugs that they would be fixed in less then 24 hours.
