Sorc or Templar for solo PvP?

jakehargusub17_ESO
I'm stuck between two toons that I really like, the sorc and the templar. I need to start focusing on one of them but I'm not sure which. I want to PvP at end game, and I typically solo or duo. I'm looking at a simple sorc build, using resto staff and destro staff. Templar is a bit trickier, I like bow and sword and board despite the lack of synergy between the two weapons and the templar skills.

Being solo though, a good escape is key so bolt escape looks good on paper. Durability is also good which the templar seems to get from the spear line shield. What are your experiences beyond that? How does end game DPS compare between the two. Can I get away with playing a templar without a resto staff and not wearing light armor? Can the vampire mist be a decent escape for a templar?

If you want to play PVP - use DK or NB.
DK for durability and survival, or NB for hunting and ambushing.
Sorc with BE = dead sorc, ZOS need to rename BE as "you should never escape".
Templars are better, much better, since last patch, but still not so good as DK.
If you choose between Sorc and Templar - choose Templar-vamp.
If you have nothing to say say nothing ©

Thanks Alex. I have a NB currently and don't like the fact that he's so uncompetitive without the initial burst. I wanted to play something with range and it seems like DK is all melee.

as a templar i survive most nightblade ambushes unless they are hunting in pairs, then your in trouble- (or if they catch me without enough stam to break initial stun)
I solo a lot with my templar, there are very good builds for pvp all our class dps moves have utility and we have lots of great abilities. even though our dps is not great we make up for it with utility moves. I love my templar.
but mage has bolt escape and it would be nice to be able to run away and regain my stats anytime i want :/

    Neither. Go Nightblade.

Templar. light armour +Sword and Board + retsro staff, spam Blazing shied. In melee you can become very strong. If you want range, go with the sorc.

Yes because bashing ppl in the face with a shield while wearing your bathrobe is the thing to do these days!

Normally I would think the same thing but in the case of the Templar you MUST use mostly light armor or you run out of mana. It really isn't an option if you plan on using several class abilities per layout.
