Hirelings have asked for more flexibility

Abnab and Madam Firilanya, among others, have asked to not be tied down to a particular schedule. They would like the luxury of delivering their goods with a bit more flexibility, hoping they can deliver more often than every 12 or 24 hours.

Case in point: the other day I ignored them in order to allow them to begin making morning deliveries just before 8 a.m. That went well for a couple days until the server kept giving me the infinite character loading screen.

Finally, I was able to obtain all of their messages by 8:20 a.m. as of yesterday morning. Alas, this morning, I was notified that the server was down when I went to log in, so I had to wait until lunchtime to receive those messages. The hirelings were not pleased.

Now they are having to interrupt their mid-day activities rather than simply getting the task accomplished when they and I wake up. They are amenable to moving their shipments an hour earlier each day until we are again at the 8 a.m.-ish delivery schedule, but ZeniMax does not seem to want anything to do with this.

So, now I appeal, on behalf of the disgruntled hirelings, other players and myself, please change the delivery requirements so they can occur every 11 hours or every 23 hours for the half-day and full-day deliveries, respectively.

Thank you.

Yes! 24 hours especially is silly, as people tend to live on 24 hour schedules but without the exactitude of the hirelings. So, schedule "creep" begins to happen.

    For example:

I log in at 8:00 one day, get my mail. I'm now on a 24 hour timer.

I'm late getting up, log in at 8:15 the next day and now I'm stuck on waiting until 8:15 each day. Argh!

So, instead of logging in at 8:00 and having to wait, I figure I'll do the dishes and log in right at 8:15. I'm a bit late--and--BAM--now I've just bumped it to 8:20. On and on this goes until I finally have to completely skip a day to get back on my normal 8:00 time (which of course will slowly creep up again).

Just make it 23 hours, and it won't matter that people login a few minutes late or early. That's what LOTRO did for it's crafting timers and it made things much, much better.
