Auto-Travel on Grouping?

I /bugged this in game and I want to see if it has happened to anyone else.

I was merrily questing along in Shadowfen. Someone post a "WTS [item]" in zone chat. I whisper back "Will you take Xk for it?". They reply back, "Yk?". I reply back "[(Y-X)/2 + X]k?" And then they reply "sold".

I then get a group notification above my chat bar. I open it and click the check mark to join the group.

To which I then automatically enter travel-to-player mode and begin loading into Craglorn!

Turns out, the player, after posting the WTS, ported to Craglorn. So as soon as I joined the group it ported me there.

Has this happened to anyone else with joining a group of people in Craglorn?

I was seriously disturbed by it as it's a cross-talk between two functions (grouping and travel) that should not seemingly be talking.

I can also see it being exploited in PvP situations.

Has this happened to anyone else?

its a new feature, a small pop up window comes up when you group up with someone, so it ask if you wanna travel to group leader, if you have pressed the key to fast to notice the yes or no option, it might have seemed it had seen you without any cause.

this only works in pve, and not in pvp

It sounds like they encountered a bug where they accepted at just the wrong time. I never really understood why they even implemented this in the first place. Was it really so hard to open the group window and "travel to player"? Who was asking for this? Please ZOS fix the weapon swapping bug and stop adding unnecessary stuff in.

I grouped up with a guy yesterday to sell a motif. I had teleported to another zone to sell in chat when he asked to buy it from the previous zone.
when he sent group invite I accepted and a pop up came saying the other person was in a different zone and asked if I wanted to travel to him.

I click yes, and apparently he got the same pop up and he also clicked yes. we both ended up switching zone and one of us had to travel again to be able to meet up.

Curious, I would have expected it to only auto-ask to transfer to the leaders zone, which is the way it's worked in every other game with similar functionality. (SW:TOR, for instance, though that only transfers you to their instance, not their locationish)

well, I cant be sure if the other guy got the pop up as well or simply traveled to me himself at the same time. regardless, we swapped zone and he had to travel to me to be able to do the trade.

You could have tossed it to him as you passed each other in the ether....

Ya know, actually that happened to us. While he was in Craglorn, after we agreed on the sale, he ported back to Shadowfen. So with my auto-port, it was the same thing... both traveling to each other, just to swap places.

There was not 'pop-up window'. All I clicked was the check-mark button for joining the group in the Notifications window.

People complained like crazy towards launch that they "couldn't group with their friends" because they didn't want to open their party window and use travel to player. This change was in direct response to their player feedback

Is this feature not as a response to people wanting to be put in the same phase? I thought that it might be the solution to people not being able to play together as a group in towns that have phases (ie start full of baddies then you kill them all and couldn't get then back to help a friend do it after).

Hope that makes sense, I find it hard to explain what my problem with the game was, if this is the solution then I for one am elated as all of my friends left the game due to this problem
