How dare you make a game where a lower level player character can kill ME?!?!?!!

I noticed how many Rage Threads basically boil down to this, and it surprised me...

I've enjoyed being the tactician who almost took out that V11 single handed, & I've been the bold rogue who's walking through Cyrodill & gets smeared by the tactician 4 levels below Me, & I enjoyed both!
Good for the NB hiding in the bushes!!!

What about you?

I was ambushed on Horseback and I actually had the time to get up, cast Inner Light, and Critical Surge while taking a potion and I killed the 3 lower level guys that attacked me.

I was also embroiled against a Nightblade when I was killed by a level 18 and 27. Oh, I am V12. Both encounters were quite fun for me, and I hope for the other side too.

My favorite moment so far was when I took my level 17 Ebonheart Pact Nightblade (specced for single-target melee burst) skyshard hunting in Cyrodiil.

I had just gotten one of the skyshards in an Ayleid ruin in the Daggerfall Covenant zone (I believe it was Lipsand Tarn) and was on my way back outside when I noticed a level 47 DC character on his way in.

I did my dead-level best to get out of the way and let him go by, but he had spotted me and wasn't having any of it. He unloaded an Ambush (at this point I realized he was a NB as well) and had me down to 50% health before I knew what hit me.

What he didn't realize was that my ultimate (Soul Tether) was up and ready to go. Between that and a couple of Surprise Attacks, I managed to get him low enough for Impale to finish the job.

Needless to say, I was giggling like a schoolgirl because I honestly thought I was dead meat. And - being the paragon of modesty that I am - I decided to /say "Probably should've left me alone". LOL!

Which is even funnier when I exited the ruins and realized that he had wayshrined out, ridden all the way back, and was desperately trying to smoke me out with a combination of cloaks and AoE.

So, what was I to do? I /yelled "Bye, Hunny" and took off. :D

I don't know if they can see your /Yell or you could communicate cross faction with it. Griefers could even /yell the plans to the enemy.

I cannot believe you play in that mode! It would kill me. You are limited your scope of vision on the battlefield brother!

I agree , i see many threads about people complaining that said class X or Y with certain skills is killing everyone , but not many complaining they are low lvl.

Many of the complainers (like me) are V12 and have several level 30+ characters on the way. We are making experienced observations. Assuming we are just newbies and patronizing us only shows you to be a bully and your stance to be void of arguments.

Just like your thread about the silver bolts nerf , your post makes no sense at all.

I never patronized anyone , i said i didnt see such threads around much. It has nothing to do with who even made such threads.

I was condensing various threads, "the rageful goodbye" & "heavy armor tank versus light armor caster" & "I don't want to EVER temporarily change my build" into one topic of interest to Me...
How some people really seem angry that tactical thinking will make you a more effective player, and being "uber" isn't a guarantee of survival... especially in Cyrodill!

Personally I love that I can snipe a higher level veteran from the wall & take them out & the other way round!

you do loose alot of situational awairness, but you gain positional awairness and after pvping in mortal online for the better part of 4 years(first person open world mmorpg) i just cant pvp in 3rd person it looks so bad imo, but thats just me lol
more fpv pvp and some mortal online pvp if your curious what i pvped like for 4 years

Awhile back, when my VR12 was level 27, I was at a resource, and one of my teammates got jumped by two VR6s, I got behind them, and killed them both. it was pretty fun.

@Makkir, it's a preference thing, no doubt about it, and not arguing either way.

I figure I can't see behind me IRL, so why would I chose to in game? (Feels like an edge I shouldn't have - again, just me.)

For what it's worth, when you do get used to one or the other, you can be more proficient that you might expect.

Well done, @zdkazz. (And @Makkir, in regards to "it would kill me," sometimes it does :D, but it also feels really when it goes the other way, too.)

In regard to the OP, I enjoy both when the odds are at least semi-even. I enjoy the evasion when they aren't!

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

I forget the exact level i was but it was below 20 (16 i think) and i got the jump on a VR Emperor with my NB and was about to die when i got in a lucky shot with silver bolts (he was a vamp). Then about 15 minutes later, i see him again in a skirmish and got him again with silver bolts.

Needles to say, he wasn't very happy about that ...

I really like that fact that a combination of skill, opportunity and luck can turn the tides of battle - as long as the overriding factor is not actually a bug.

I love that Cyrodiil scales. VR players still have a distinct advantage but lower levels can at least make a difference. I had a LAN party with five friends yesterday and we went with three VR2s, a 48, and a level 11 player through Cyrodiil PVP and delves. Nothing like being able to do content with players who are 6 full zones apart on progression.

/zone, /yell, and /say don't work cross-faction in Cyrodiil. You would have had to whisper him. Sorry but he didn't see any of your comments.

I occasionally die to slightly lower level VR Nighblades sniping me while I'm mounted. It's being stuck in the horse falling animation that kills me really. I also die to lowbies when I suicide to reach the forward camps. Hopefully boosting their confidence a bit.

But 1v1, while actually prepared with full resources, no it never happens. Not because I'm good, but because I have so much better stats from being VR12 with improved gear and all skills maxed. It's not a fair fight and it's really hard to loose.

I did kill a VR12 former emperor bat d-bag sorcerer 1v1 back when my Templar was level VR1. He jumped me, I healed up, reflected, threw a stun and cheated with my magnificent Soul Assault. That's the closest I ever gotten to a heroic kill. He was probably lagged out or something lol.

They really need to boost the scaling a bit. Take a level 20, they can cast maybe 3 skills than they're oom. They must get 1 shot so much by Alliance NPC's

actually its a thread about whether you agree that tactics can trump level in PvP, & how likely is 'getting killed by a lower level player'?

& on a personal note, I was hella impressed when I got smeared... it was just as entertaining being slain as the slayer!
maybe I would have felt differently if was on my way TO a scouting mission instead of back from it, but I don't think so.

    Agreed!
That moment you defended the keep, or the one where your alliance takes it, or your team finished its delve, & you are supposedly a pink & squishy level 14 or whatever... so much fun!!
