Reapers March VR5 content - Temple of the Divine. I fight my way in and there are two mini bosses - a nightblade and flame mage - I manage to kill them and the real boss shows up - another night blade, who I now have to fight after expending most of my magicka and stamina fighting the first two...oh and he spawns the flame mage and night blade again when he hits half heath. The room is a size of a closet so running is limited, blocking two night blades and a flame mage is almost impossible, I die. Come back and use eclipse on the flame mage....his attacks are so heavy they kill him in three hits...great...just the two night blades....oh yeah and fighting them off I am dead again. I tried bow for cc, aderic spear for cc, the fighter trap...I mean really...how the hell...is a templar supposed to do this (I should mention two things - all I saw were dks and sorcs running out completing it, and it is a solo instance...to get a team mate I would abandon it and have them do it all with me and even than I am not sure the final would be both of us...

yeah I have fire rune guess I will go do other things until it levels up...I don't need them to nerf anything but really? 4 mini bosses and a boss fight?? The fire mage hits for 1154 if you are not blocking or avoiding..I think it is just a lack of dps..since DKs and Sorcs are walking out okay. Single target is not a problem I can do all the vr 5 solo dungeons, take on trash mobs of three when I was a vr4 and they were 5 but this....

I just did it the other day as NB in VR9. I can't say how to do it with a Templar but my approach was to have self heals an aoe and sword and shield. Blocking and interrupting is essential. I didn't use it in the fight but I am pretty sure volcanic rune would work at least on the adds.

If all else fails find another player to duo. All zone quest bosses allow grouping from what I have seen. It will take a bit to find a player to synch with you but I doubt it will be to long.

I hear volcanic runes is OP.. .

The thing about Volcanic Rune, is that skill is open to anyone. I get how people complain about a specific class being OP (some say Sorcerers are), but for all the complaining about how hard Vet content is, and how useful Volcanic Rune can be to help a solo player handle the supposed hard Vet content, why would anyone ever complain about a skill that anyone and everyone can use be OP?

....Unless of course you are a Sorcerer and you are trying to divert attention away from your class, which, I am, so... HELL YA. Volcanic Rune is OP.. Nerf! Nerf! Nerf!

I had a partner. Last night I travel to a player inside even though I had all ready done the quest and helped him.

The fire mage is worse than the damn boss.

What is your general build, playstyle.

    Heavy/medium/light?

With the bow for example you can use Scatter Shot and its morphs to "sleep" one of the NBs. the disorent effect will only end if you damage them. i would Eclipse the Mage, and sleep one of the NBs. burn down the third and then kill the slept one.

You can use any move that has a long disable to recover. Spear Shards is another example of a "sleep" move avilable to Templars. Tho its a AOE, it will disable for 6 seconds.

of course, as others have mentioned, Volcanic Rune is a good option that is avliable to all classes.

Another good option against pure melee enemies that is avilable to all classes is the Bombard Morph of Arrow Spray. Any time i use one of my characters with a Bow, i just fully carge a heavy attack and use arrow spray. the immobilize combined with the AOE and snare, is enough to keep mobs far from you while still having enough time to full charge a heavy attack in between using the skill. Once Bombard is leveled up, the time frame between uses in the methoid is shorter than the duration of the immobilize, allowing you to keep enemies rooted while dealing damage to them.
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

Maneged to solo all on my NB DW/Bow... you can use the knock back on the bow to push something away and temporarely 'park' them when you continue on something else for a possible solution, crammed into a little room just make it more intense, but far from impossible, patience with focus on what you want to do.

After you die once and he's standing there with his two adds, you can aggro the adds one at a time (throw a CC at them, I used Agony, and when it breaks they'll come after you alone), kill them, and take the boss alone. Dont get too close when you pull them and pull them back to the door so that the boss and the other add dont aggro. Once he spawns the adds during the fight the first time, he doesn't spawn them again.

Mate , bitting jabs is what i use also , but it not nearly enough to keep me going alone now.

What lvl is your templar and what build do you use then?

The combination of Siphon Spirit(force siphon) on 1 or more mobs plus jabs is kinda OP. This would require having your resto staff leveled up tho. It procs on every tick of jabs, so it's pretty significant.

Can you remind what quest this is? I remember only one moment that is impossible to do solo - when you fight with the Dark Mane for the first time in Arenthia. If that's it - then yeah, it's impossible and I agree with you :)

When you fight the first two, work your way back toward the entrance and try to be all the way back when the boss spawns. then you can kill him alone and never have to deal with the summoned adds.

Yes, I think that's the one I remembered. He summons 2 adds, right?
Then yeah, it's too hard and impossible to solo. Without using bugs like "go jump on the column and turn around 3 times, then adds won't go there".

If you have one hand/shield the fight is quite doable as templar, even with AD being your third alliance. All the mobs including the boss are susceptible to power slam and will just stand around forever doing nothing while you focus on one of them at a time.

When the last of the two inital mobs is low on health, just keep him power slammed while you regen your resources naturally. This way you will be at full strength for boss spawn.

When boss spawns his adds, slam him and the nightblade add, then burst down the mage as fast as you can. You won't be able to keep 3 adds cc'd while regenerating resources, so you need to bring them down to 2 fast. Use magicka abilities for damage, and keep all your stamina for slam. As soon as the mage is down, the situation should be controllable with regular slam. Just keep the boss cc'd while you take down the nightblade. Once just the boss is left you can just slam him whenever you need to regenerate resources.

    Impossible? Not really. Hard? Yep!

I soloed this as a nightblade tank. After killing the two adds, the boss spawned and after a certain amount of time, another two adds spawned. I managed to kill both mobs before I died.
After ressing up, engaging the boss again, he didn't summon anything else.

So try to atleast get one add down from the second group, they don't seem to respawn.

That is my problem I got them down to just two - I just need a better cc to keep one stunned.

1H+shield, ability #5 - Power Bash. Morph to Power Slam. Costs stamina, is very cheap and keeps each mob it's used on incapacitated for 14 seconds so long as you don't damage it. It will easily let you deal with only 1 enemy at a time, provided you save your stamina for it and stick to magicka for damage skills.

That's where I'm at, I now have to spend days and days leveling up my damn sword and shield to get through this fight just to have a chance at it. Either that or hope someone shows up to help me. Anyone have ideas for areas to level my skills? I'm level 42.

The majority of things you can stun or cc dies to your templar. Have a look at your class abilities, there are plenty of utility, heal, buff and debuff spells on it. Don't just stand there and spam Blazing Shield (if you have it) and Puncturing Sweep (that's the better morph of the ability!). Templar's survival-capabilities are simply amazing.
