The I realised it would get shut down.

For those that work and those that have time off...

Have a great weekend!

(Just meant as humour and a, "Gosh, Thanks!" to all those who play, contribute, and get paid to read these words, thoughts, and often drivel we, the user, churn out).

well I have recently learned that sadly in guild chat, almost everything goes, saw some get reported for using the N-word, and the response was, as long as its in guild chat we wont do anything about it.

Solution was, either quit guild or use profanity filter

The only N-word I know is Ginger. This reaction does confuse me :) Probably as much as reading it confused others. Honestly, I am confused.

However, thanks for trying! I meant it as a blind-side joke. That profanity is a scale and that what some consider acceptable others do not. It was a no-win situation I TRIED to make light of - 'cos it was Friday and everyone should have a good unwind at the end of a working week (thus I mentioned those that had to work at the weekend so we, the consumer, could play!).

    See?

well, my level of acceptance is huge, I dont care about the written word that much, especially not in a game where people hide behind their monitors :)

and hey Araflin, hope you will have a sweet weekend as well ;)

Guild chat should be completely controlled by the Guild master and officers. Everyone in the guild opted in, and can opt out if they don't like what they see if the Guild management is ok with it.

Zone chat, however--is another story. If I saw anyone use the "N" word, for example, if a GM didn't take action, it wouldn't stop there. There's no way the public chat system, that everyone in the game has access to and potentially needs, should have that kind of garbage going on.

I enjoy swearing it is part of the way i talk. If you don't like it, turn on the swear filter or if your are one of the goitres that leave it off so they can be offended and complain you can *** yourself :)
If real life had a block function i would go out more.

Proud to have spent a year paying to BETA test ESO for consoles.

Because those people tried to get around it, I've done it before without realising, I self censored and used the first letter then asterixes and they moderated it anyway

Grey Areas.. they are the ones that the aliens take from the cows (and Cartman) right?

I think profanity has a purpose. That purpose is not, "punctuation".

I know and appreciate many who think otherwise. But you DO pick your friends, not your family.

I recently found out that if you censor the words you type on this forum yourself rather than letting the word filters do it, you'll get a moderator telling you to shape up and stop trying to evade the word filters... Which doesn't make any sense to me when you're censoring the word yourself.

When you turn in the first Undaunted quest and everyone is drinking a toast, Might Mora refers to everyone at the table as "a bunch of corset wearing dog diddlers."

I don't think Zenimax has much room for censoring after that, unless diddling means walking in Tamriel, and the corset reference is because light armor is still the preferred armor.

I wouldn't tolerate racism or other childish / ignorant behavior in my guild. Goofing off or cursing like a sailor is fine with me. Never bothers me in zone unless it is used to verbally attack people.

My first guild I was in someone made an anti-Semitic remark and then got mad when I called him on it. Prior to that he made an anti-feminist remark, which I called him on. And after the anti-Semitic remark he actually said "Man, I just can't say anything."

Christ, that's some serious cajones. To get indignant that you can't make racist slurs.

It's a little depressing that reporting him would have meant nothing. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen, surely. You'd think ZOS would want no part of that. I know the other games I have played have had a zero tolerance policy on racial slurs and the like.
