windows 8.1 problem

Frostswg77ub17_ESO
in march I got a new pc with win 8.1 , last month I made a mistake and downloaded an app. which required me to sign into a Microsoft account to do. and it took over. I now have to log into m y Microsoft account to use my computer, which is annoying, my downloads are slower now as well since then I was updating eso at 300-500/sec

now I get 100/sec if I am not doing anything else.

how can I undo this and get my computer back to normal where when hit the power button it goes strate to my desktop. hopefully with out loosing anything, I have tried creating another account but I seem to be missing a step as the new account has no internet use.

I have win 8.1 and not so long ago made the same jump to using a Microsoft based log in rather then a local one, due to some stupid app I needed to use requiring I have a windows ID blah blah blah.

All that said, I have not and am not seeing any kind of performance hit or penalty.

You may want to check concurrently running processes and what is set to auto-start, either in the start-up folder, msconfig and/or the service manager.

You may have an undesirable, naughty, or just plain bad piece of something that creeped and crawled into your system.

    agreed.
just made the change myself and have no performance issues whatsoever...
if anything i am tempted to say its never run better, but that might also be a sideeffect of the SSD as c:\ wich i started to use when i switched OS.

sounds indeed like you have something other than that going on in your runnig processes.

i find ProcessExplorer a more useful task manager than the one coming with windows. easier to spot if any program runs amok on your resources.
