Why is it that people complain about the so-called disco ball for a week and it gets fixed with an immediate dev reply? Is it because they said they'd contact the fcc for a busted product if you didn't and I was polite about it? Is it because they spammed the forums about it and I didn't, instead just making one post and letting it go from there? Maybe because I didn't threaten to unsubscribe like they did?
some people have been complaining about this for 4 months, not a week. and maybe its a darn sight easier to fix that fov/camera issues. That is ALOT harder. And I mean alot, not just a few variables
Whats wrong with the camera/ FOV settings they have?
Unfortunately they only did for first-person view, not third-person.purple-magicb16_ESO wrote: »Thot they fixed this with fov slider. No? I never checked it after patch release so I don't know for sure.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bb10oX29qMc

I too would like larger field of view but I'm not into the "why do they get their stuff but I don't get mine" complaint.
To some extent, I wonder if they do not give a further back view on 3rd person in order to not make it even more of an advantage over 1st person that it already is, but I'm not sure that could be serious. It already is and advantage even if the camera is so close, you can only see an attacker come in a split second before they are on you.
As far as I can remember the camera has always been 'off centre' in ES games (once tech allowed it to be).
It's is a vast undertaking to move the field of view now the game is released and would take ALOT of resources to do, unfortunately only a small minority have asked for this so it's likely to never happen because of the work needed to re-write atleast half the code of the game.
Have you tried playing using just the POV camera.
Also i'd suggest buying a new monitor as it sounds like your suffering from low fps flicker which causes nausea and epilepsy.
Perhaps even an eye test and let the person doing it know its for Monitor use.
stuff from first OP post

That's made by a third-party and could get me banned or just keylogged. I used it once and then changed my password after, to determine that the FOV setting would make the game playable for me, recently though which is why I made this thread.

I can sort of get that for the zoom distance though they used to let us zoom out further, in the first place. Field of View though they put in for first-person just not third. And I know the post came off frustrated... sorry but I was, that is why I posted in my first reply to say that I know it didn't come off very well.

I appreciate the thoughtful advice... I'm on a pretty new monitor that's a 24" LCD and run at 60fps always since I lower the settings a bit to make sure the framerate does not dip. I dont know how involved making another slider for thirdperson like they did firstperson would be but I dont think it would be too hard from what I have seen and given that third-party tool linked above by smeeprocket. I'm just hoping since they fixed things affecting similar numbers of people like the mage orb, that maybe this thread will be seen by them and they'll finally change it to allow the options that would let me play a lot
Ok. Maybe there was some confusion as to exactly what needed to be fixed and how. This notwithstanding, I am in full support of fixing the 3rd person view too. Need more view options not just for people with these kinds of issues but also "over the shoulder" view is not everyone's top choice for viewing and really can affect quality of play.

Why do people ignorantly argue against an option for something ?
It would just be another setting in the options menu, use it or don't.
How would it detract from your gameplay ?
And as for the rather silly comment of "just don't play", if certain issues are causing motion sickness etc then they need to be addressed, not ignored.
Zen wants to keep customers, not make them go away, don't play is not an option.

ZOS should put more effort into making customization settings for the camera. Not having options for people with different needs is lazy and ignorant. When industries have done this in history past, it has led to a host of legislation to force compliance. I would like to think we live in an enlightened enough day and age where people can come to their senses and get in front of these issues before, as an industry, you're forced to comply later.

Wholeheartedly agreed. If anybody wants something and it doesn't come at any cost for me whatsoever, by all means, let them have it. This is particularly true for clientside graphics settings and the like.
