Respect for the Enemy!

Death can be annoying in Cyrodiil. Getting run over by a zerg, a DK standard vampire spammer or an Impulse spammer in a dress is getting old. Every once and a while though I get killed by an enemy where I can't say anything else but "Well done!". It's usually when I'm killed by another NB who's using pretty much the same skills as me ;)

Tonight I found my nemesis. A nightblade that's named after a venomous spider. We were attacking Chalman in the EU Haderus campaign and I noticed some skirmishing to the side of the keep. I decided to join the battle but found that my friendlies had lost a target and were searching the area frantically. I joined the search but as soon as I got separated from the group I got marked then ambushed and flat out killed. This actually happened two or three times before I had the bright idea to just use purge. I go out there again with purge on my bow bar and sure enough I get marked. I purge it. Marked again. Purged. Marked. Out of magicka. Dead. Time for a new plan.

Piercing Mark on my DW bar and Rapid Maneuvers and Mist Form on my bow bar as an escape. Then I stayed in stealth until she struck one of my friendlies. I didn't have to wait long and as she stood over the corpse of my friend I marked her. Then came MY ambush and Surprise Attack followed with my Flurry! Hardly a dent on her! She locked up in a block position and spammed Funnel Health on me. Before I knew it I was dead. At that time the server was being taken down for maintenance.

Now before anyone starts crying over the block mechanics or how this or that is OP and unbalanced, the point is that she had an answer for pretty much everything that was thrown at her. I wasn't the only one that was after her either. There were mages and DKs after her as well. I have only one word to describe this encounter.

Respect!

Please share any stories where you had respect for your enemy.

So many people kill me, I can't possibly respect them all. I can also only draw one of two conclusions from my adventures in Cyrodiil. 1. I either really really suck at pvp, or 2. everyone in the other factions are all a bunch of dirty cheaters.

I'm going with 2. And I give no respect dirty cheaters!

Aaww, not everyone is a cheater, surely. Have you tried finding a wee little lvl 10 player and kill him to death? Does wonders for me sometimes ;)

I would like to add my so far most enjoyable and memorable experience I've had in a very long time of ESO's PvP.

Was fighting a guy 1v1 for some time, we both have some sort of sustain so it was a lasting fight.
At that time I had Invigorating Drain (Vampire's Drain Essence morph) slotted but I kept it for the very last moment to regain health and stamina to start over, it's obvious not to use this early in the fight. As the fight kept goin, and I was low on all my health, stamina and also magicka, I was about to use the drain but I surprisingly had not enough mana for it, (tho I was at stage 4 of vampirism).

So that was crucial, that one second where I almost saw myself dead, lying on the groud, him banging my dead body and leaving with AP, the very last thing I could do was to use Carve (Two-Handed's ability, morph of Cleave that gives ultimate points), the damage would hardly kill him, but I just smashed the button.
I didn't even realize it would get my ultimate to be ready (Clouding Swarm that makes you invisible for a couple seconds while dealing AoE damage) and just activated it, LUCKILY for me, since I haven't drained the guy earlier I was able to feed on him. That was priceless, truly, lovely, words cannot describe.

While I was invisible, I got the 'X' synergy option to feed on him, so I did it. I regained my health and as a potion came off cooldown, I finishing him off.
For the rest of the day I was daydreaming that moment, it felt just so purely awesome.
I was totally able to imagine this scene in some sort of a vampire movie:
Near to death, realizes his ability (Clouding Swarm ultimate in this case, lol) is available, so he gets himself clouded by bats while they also bite the enemy, in the confusion the vampire sneaks behind the victim and feeds on him during the storm of bats and wins the fight.
I always join groups and go for sieges, hardly get to 1v1 someome, but lately as I am doing Cyrodiil dungeons and city quests, I have more of these encounters and they are really fun.

Thank you for having the patience of getting through all of this, but I think it was worth sharing it :D

edit: I could also share another of my PvP experience during questing in Bruma, shorter one, tho gripping one.

Today we make our stand. Today we take back the Ruby Throne, which is ours by ancient right and the blessings of the Divines.

Wait, you were able to feed from the bats ultimate invisibility?! That IS pricelss. I've been able to feed by using dark cloak but never in mid fight.

I once went 1v1 against a DK that lasted a long time. I had Siphoning Strikes turned on which kept my magica and stamina up. We traded punches for quite a long time and we each came close to death a couple of times. When he locked up in a defensive position I'd switch to my bow and hit him with Strife. In the end he got the better off me and my hands were shaking after the encounter. As I was thinking what a great fight that was a thought crept into my head: "My ultimate!! I forgot to use my friggin' ultimate!!" It would have finished him off for sure but, oh well... lesson learned lol.

Please share if you have more.

I have memorized a few names of AD and DC players that when I see them, I lock on. I prioritize them above all others around them. I was told its "weird" to be killed by someone 30 times, but I have been killed by this guy over 30 times, and I have killed him about 30 times too.

I always wanted to msg him and say hi, but I never do. He probably doesn't even know! Oh well, its fun to think about at times.

I also have a couple DC and EP names memorized and if I ever find them on the battlefield, they get a nice 3.8k soul assault to the face. I also have friendlies too, we just wave at each other and keep fighting the rest.

Yeah I have a shitlist as well. It mostly consists of mages using crystal shards and DKs using talons. I need to update to add some impulse spammers as well ;)

We killed one "legendary" vampire emperor with less than 10 men. Everyone in our group just stayed the hell away and attacked his with ranged attacks. We basically starved him to death since he couldn't reload his health and ultimate with bats swarm.
