Level Cap thoughts for a dev....

Why is the level cap being increased? Why can't you make a game that people want to play because of it's own merits instead of always having to grind something? The game hasn't even been out 6 months and the level cap is going to go up for a second time. Do you really think people won't play if the cap doesn't go up? If so, make a better game.

Name any MMO that doesn't rely on some form of "grind" or character progression to keep players interested. I can't think of any, because that's kind of an important factor of keeping players invested between new content updates.

Far more easy to design a new zone and increase level cap to "reward" participants, rather than design and implement a new system of rewards.

They are going to be implementing an entirely new reward system for post-50 content, but until the champion system and seasonal gear make it into the live game this is the most sensible solution to keep player invested.

Just because they all do it doesn't make it ok. It just means the games aren't good enough to keep subscribers without a carrot on a stick. *looks in disgust at SWTOR*.
