Yes, and it doesn't change my point. You made a weak excuse for why we should just flush all lore down the toilet, and I disagree.

I've thought about mounts for awhile (disturbing I know) and would like to see race specific mounts.

So I'd be ok with Khajiits riding Senches but only them. There would still be horses and other mounts available if you preferred them over your races but I think it would really help emphasize the feel of an Elder Scrolls world.

I don't think we should throw all lore out the window just because of a few oversites from the devs in the past.

If there were senche mounts, I would want them to be something that can only be obtained through a quest. Basically because of this: "The Senche is also one of the few Khajiit to be used as a steed by other Khajiit. This is thought to be voluntary, however it is unconfirmed." If you want to ride a senche, I want there to be a quest where you do something for that senche that will earn its loyalty and make it want to let you ride it around forever.

For those of you who some hoe don't know what a Senche is, it is basically one of the many different breeds of the magnificent Khajiit species. The Elder Scrolls Wiki describes them

The only issue I can see with this is other species besides the Khajiit using them, but as we can see, this game isn't really that great with keeping up lore in the first place (books written by authors who aren't even born yet) so for the sake of fairness, obviously everyone would be able to acquire one. I think a quest or a quest chain would be the best way to earn one of these bad boys.

So who is with me? Would you guys like to see these awesome guys become available in the game?

Exactly. Like I said in the OP, I believe a nice quest chain would be the best way to acquire one of these guys.

Zen has done fairly well with regards to sticking to established lore, and provides plausible explanations for any outliers.


As for the senche, I'd personally prefer Zen stick to horses, but id be surprised if guar weren't added.

Hmm, I didn't know about that one. I remember a few threads talking about how other issues, I will try and find them. However, unlike most people, I have no issues in admitting I am wrong, so if what I recall can all be backed up with reason, great.

And like I said, I find horses incredibly boring. A Guar would be pretty awesome.

I had this idea too, awhile back when Skyrim was first announced. But then I got to thinking, is there enough mounts in the ES lore to support 10 unique race specific mounts? Or would that just push into the realm of WoW, where anything and everything could be a mount?

no I don't think there were. I would imagine a senche mount would be difficult to get to begin with, and then it would be unheard of outside of elswyer, which would be where the rights of said senche would end. Outside there they'd be seen as wild animals who could be abused without restraint. I doubt senche would be eager to enlist in that.

I don't feel that two wrongs make a right, so further butchering the lore just makes things worse.

Plus even if there was one or two senche that accompanied a non-khajiit, making them available would put up a large chunk of senche in non-khajiiti hands, making it the norm.

You also have to remember this is an MMO. How many times has that town been saved from Werewolves, how many Vestige can their really be? Where do you draw the line in this kind of stuff? Where do you decide when and where to keep unique items/stories/heroes true to lore/your personal story versus all the other thousands of players who have the same story?

I hate having to reference WoW, but I'm going to use it again. How many Anzu the Raven Lords are there? How many Ashes of Al'ar mounts are in the WoW universe? For the story, one. But because this is an MMO, and because there is thousands/millions of players, can really keep stuff like this true to the lore? I would also think that some Nord taming a Senche is a lot more believable then 300 different Raven Lords running around.

My biggest concern with mounts is lore. Keep them specific to each race, don't give a Mammoth to a damn High Elf.
