Bottom line is this: They haven't made up their minds yet.

My opinion is they will be doing away with veteran levels and they just don't have it totally fleshed out yet.
I look at this current increase to VR14 as them labeling a way they have given us to preemptively earn champion points before they put the new system in place.

Hello, This is my view as a seller and crafter It is in my view that any armor you upgrade you do so with the sole purpose of using your hard earned money. Now as for myself between selling the various things I do I leave myself with a profit that I then use to upgrade my personal self while still maintaining my own stack of materials for other players. I consider upgrading as a write off since its my own profit and not hurting me. The same concept in people whinning or asking for there druex wax back is like if you bought one of those 42,000 g horses and they changed it and then they asked for a refund it is just not logical....That is all I got...Thanks.

But they could easily track experience that we would gain without increasing the level cap.

A lot of people will be VR14 within 10 hours, and then they'll likely have a month+ before the Champion system is in place. Are you really appeasing those people by counting 10 hours out of a month+ for the new system?

Was in craglorn...People were mentioning the shadow trails was an exploit ...never did it myself.. But people all of sudden were playing out and saying grinding was an exploit and bannable.. Was funny.

OMG..NO. Why do people keep saying this. ZoS has stated that VR ranks will be removed after the 3rd phase of champion system being introduced. It was stated that everyone would be lvl 50 after it was all said and done. Here is the exact quote from jessica folsom:

"Once the champion system is completely in place, VR levels will be gone, so yes it'll just be level 50 and you will expand into the champion system."

People keep repeating it because they've done a terrible job conveying any information about it. As far as I know there hasn't been any official posts about it on here, just information dragged from other sources from people that are "official"
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

No, I am suggesting the vast majority of people will not be VR14 in ten hours and those are the people this is targeted at. Its for casuals not speed-levelers

Editing to say that hidden exp wouldn't give people the sense that they were accomplishing something like a few extra "levels" does

And I am suggesting that is not a valid reason when it's easily trackable without increasing the level cap.

I look at it as an opportunity. If I have to craft and temper a whole new set of gear, I just got a huge carrot to strive for. It's just more time I get to spend in my favorite fantasy world. :D

This is an MMO...if you didn't think this was going to happen sooner or later then you have no right at being at max level in the first place.

I on the other hand have been hoarding mats nicely cos I knew this was gonna happen and i'll make a killing on selling mats at the vastly inflated new gold levels. 5k per on Euro server now ;)
This, most MMO uses a gear grind, ESO is twice as fast here as WOW who was to slow in my opinion. No I was never able to get top gear in WOW, that required heroic raids.

Had they not increased level cap but just added new sets who was better than the old ones you would have the same problem with wasting upgrades on inferior sets.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I just cant stop laguthing. This is probably the only MMO i've played where people react so bad on implementing new items.

Juts hilarious how lazy people become. They not whilling to do anything even in computer game...

In every previous MMO every new content were like "Hooray, finaly. Finaly i have something new to do and some more achivements to attain. New gear to grind".

    But this...

Let me don my train hat and jump the freak on board.

This is absolutely ridiculous. This game hasn't even been out 5 months and we're already looking at a 2nd level cap increase?

Holy crap... why even bother crafting max level gear? To enjoy it for a few weeks?

What about players who spent countless hours in dungeons grinding for those ultra rare sets like Worm Cultist? They will have to do it again?

Level cap increase with an expansion, and a new tier of gear every 6 months sounds okay to me... but for petes sake this is crazy.
  • bennysbeastb16_ESO2
So, VR14 coming. Max level of items will be increased. All your base are belong to us now...erm, i mean we all will have to craft new gear. All your WAXes and ROSIN's are wasted into the abbyss.

So, lets get this complain train started.

P.S. Me personally think there is nothing wrong with gear getting stronger over time and the fact you have to keep working in order be on top.

This is the reason i cancelled y sub last night, ive played since beta, and crafted my legendary gear at v10, few weeks later v12 came out, since then ive managed to collect about 1/3 of mats need to craft another leg set, now with v14 coming i see no point in continually farming sh*t just to wear the gear that i chose to make in 1st place, 2many games coming out in next few month to warren another grind and make my gear more obsolete,

    gd luck to all :disappointed:

Nick Konkle states you will not be a VR rank and the gear will be level 50. He doesnt want to say it, but he does.

I listened to it twice and he not only was speculating, it was about the gear and not the levels. He said gear would not be associated with the vr12, but he didn't say vr12 would not exist.

Whatever man...I supplied two pieces of evidence that there will not be VR ranks and that all gear will be level 50...and you just refuse to believe it for some ridiculous reason, as if you want/think VR ranks are good for the game.

Only an idiot dev would KEEP VR ranks with AA system considering how many people QUIT this game because of Vet ranks. I wont be wasting any more of my time on your refusal to accept what is going happen.

"you wouldn't be a veteren rank"

You are just hearing what you want to hear.

Your evidence is speculation. The lead dev for this part of the game spoke at quakecon and what he explained would be the closest piece of evidence we have. If you knew how a chain of command worked, you'd know that. Not only did Nick Konkle sound like he had no idea what he was talking about, Paul Sage is the guy in charge of the project so he is the one who will know the specifics. If you watch the quakecon video, you'll see the champion constellations are already made and the points are for upgrading specific skills just like in Skyrim. He never says the points will be your rank, and he never says veteran ranks will be removed. Seriously, learn English and stop spreading bad information.

He directly states that you wont be a veteren rank. Nick knows just as much as to what is going with the game that Paul does. That interview was done within a week of Quakecon when he says, "you wont be veteren rank" and that "gear will be level 50".

And you tell me to learn English? Maybe you need to open your ears and try listening, instead of being so benighted? Your argument relies on what "was NOT said", while my evidence is coming from what "HAS BEEN said".

The Skyrim trees? I'm not even sure why you would bring that topic up because it most assuredly leads towards a future void of vet ranks. I am still waiting for you to explain why VR is necesarry when gear will be level 50 and dependant on seasons and champion progression?

You're wrong. Nothing more to say.

That funny, because all the proof I presented says otherwise. You present nothing and just shout out "you're wrong" and "go learn English". Mmmkay.

Evidence? A couple screenshots without a link and an interview where a dev speculates about what will happen, but you ignore the real video where the dev in charge of this system actually says the veteran levels will gain XP and that the champion points will be used for skill improvement. You're wrong and you need to learn English. Why would they be adding more ranks to a system that they would be planning to delete?

I've already told you at least 3 times why they are adding vr14 even though vr ranks are being removed. As have other people in this thread. You are just too cretinous to understand.

I have asked you at least three times as well...why would ZoS keep VR with an AA system and you can't even give me an answer can you?

Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

Worm Cult works 100% fine still just as it always did. It's even VR10 which works for the top level glyphs (VR10-14) on PTS meaning you don't lose any stat at all except a whopping 10 armor per piece (who cares?). It's not a "level cap" increase so much as a gear gate increase. The "level" maximum is and remains 50, with veteran ranks for gear accessibility, as it has been since they were first enabled during psijic testing.
-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.
