A castles or resources ownership should be reset.

I have two points I wish to discuss on this subject.

1. When a castle or resource is captured the guild ownership should be reset to unclaimed. I saw a castle get captured by 2 different factions today and the guild ownership didn't change. It just doesn't make sense to me that a guild that supports one faction can still be the owners when their faction no longer has control of the castle or resource. Also it will force guilds to defend their lands if they wish to keep them AND it will allow other guilds a chance to get one of the prime locations. As it stands now the first ones to claim them still hold them to this day regardless of which faction controls it or won the campaign.

2. Castles and resources should be reset at the end of the campaign otherwise we get the situation like we have in the 7 day campaign on the NA server. One faction controls everything and the other 2 cannot get out of their starting areas. The players in the controlling faction cant get alliance points because there is no one to fight. Also since the they can't get out of the starting zone there is noway for anyone else to become emperor.

At least for the short term campaigns the 30 day ones don't seem to have the same troubles. But regardless there should be a periodical reset of any of the campaigns. Especially if one faction controls everything for too long, lets say more than one campaign,

Then you have Warhammer and GW2 all over again and people instantly give up the moment they start losing and wait for a reset. You will see "why take anything today it will just reset tommorow." People wanted the persistant world feel like DAOC and Planet Side 2 where what you do or accomplish matters until enemy players take action to change it.

Stop looking at the campaign score, winning a campaign is only like a small bonus and all you get is gold. The real reward is winning on the map for the bonuses that efffect your character power and AP income. This can be done at anytime during a campaign regarless of the score. The moment you start resetting the map people stop caring and stop trying. And its not gaming 101, thats actually the mistake new MMOs started making.

I thought you could claim a keep when you captured it. If they stay with the same guild are you sure that's not a bug like what's going on with the guild traders right now?

After seeing Blackwater Blade rebalance itself through players alone, I'm convinced no reset is needed and would more likely harm campaigns than help. If a campaign can't recover on its own, it should just be deleted because it doesnt have enough player interest to balance.

The guild ownership is my real issue. Although I have noticed that once an alliance has taken over completely the other 2 factions really don't make the effort to change the players quit the campaign and go to another. It is almost as if they are hoping for a reset because they don't see a possibility of any change. So it creates the same issue that resetting them on the regular creates. Maybe instead of resetting at a predetermined time, say every 2 weeks or what have you, they reset it when there has been no change for a certain amount of time.

I confirmed that the guild ownership did not change even thought the castle in question changed hand many times. All 3 alliances held the castle and the guild ownership didn't change. I personally attempted to claim it and was foiled by the fact it was already claimed. By the guild who held it before it was taken by the DC from the EB, and then by AD when we took it. If it is a bug it needs to be address if it is working as intended then it needs to be reviewed and changed.

Thankfully it did rebalance out. I wasn't sure it would happen without a large influx in pop on either the AD/DC side.

I think a better eye should be kept on them though, and if they've been stagnant for to long, then reset it next time the campaign ends.

Warhammer is the only game I've ever just rage quit, and it was precisely because ppl made that statement. That was a fun game for a little while, too.

Guild ownership of a keep should definitely be cleared if the keep is captured by another alliance; that's why guild have alliance affiliation. This must be a bug.

I like the idea of having resources and keeps alliance status reset if the campaign is stagnant for a period of time. Not at the end of every campaign though, as that defeats the purpose of the "persistent world" feel.

Yeah this sounds like it is either a bug, or like some guild decided to make a Keep their RP "home" and have people active in all alliances laying claim to it after every siege (possible, but unlikely).

I know previously I would always see Keeps change guilds after different alliances had flipped them, so something unusual is going on.

Im sure it's a bug. This is not in line with my experiences at all and Ive spent more than a few hours in Cyrodiil. Never claimed a keep but the option is always there just after I helped take one (after the regular visit to the QM for camps/sieges) I can claim it, but never bother to. Unless it is after you click the claim option in dialogue box, then it must be a bug.

I get the option to claim but after I click it I'm told it is not possible. Because it is already claimed.

That shouldn't be possible actually, as only players in the same alliance as the guild's chosen affiliation should be able to claim keeps for that guild (ie, an AD player in a DC guild cannot claim an AD keep for their guild).

I agree that is why I think there is something not quite right in the province of Cyrodiil.

Nah, the folks just don't know who they belong to. One hour is DC ... the next AD ... And throw EP in at some point too.

All this flipping of control has got to be confusing. ;P
