Sorry for another poll, but another thread had me wondering what the consensus was on using soulgems to rez others. I felt like maybe I was out of sync with everyone else.

I have no problem using my soul gems to rez anybody for any reason if I have them.

In PVE, I won't rez people who die by their own hand. Stand in fire? You can rez yourself. That is unless it was an honest mistake and not their usual behavior. That or when we need them up to finish the fight.

In PVP, I rez when there is no forward camp nearby. If there is a FC within reasonable distance, I don't feel it is worth it.

So generally, I am more than willing to rez people, whether I know them or not. My soul gems aren't as important as good teamwork and everyone having a good time. Unfortunately, people rarely return the favor. I see people in PVP run right by me all the time even after a fight has ended. Sometimes even people I had just revived seconds prior.

I am honest with you, most of the time I just walk and use charge.

If I would res another player? Well it depends, that said I prefer to not let them die in the first place as a Healer :D

I have no problem with using soul gems on friendly people in my group, random or not, if i have them.

Only time i don't revive is if i don't have soul gems of the appropiate* level. Or if my group is very hostile. But havent experienced that so far. Or simply if im out of them.

Not when im leveling . But in pve groups and pvp groups? everytime .

In pvp , I hate when my keep is under attack, the keep is about to fall ..and people dont resurrect the dead !! thats why I always use my soulgems when I see a dead people.

I rez people in group dungeons or my group member/guildies in other situations.

Most people I play with do rez themselves, but sometime ppl run out of things, esp. in vet group dungeons, I rather not having others running all the way from the entrance.

I play solo or with my girlfriend and don't do much in terms of group content.

I amass a whole ton of Soul Gems that I don't otherwise use. I have 149 filled Grand Soul Gems in my bag at present.

I'll toss someone a res if I see they need one, but I tend to favour doing so more in PvP.

For some reason, if I use my gems to pick players up, the game always ends up giving me more gems than I had to begin with. Maybe just coincidence.

And it's not completely selfless or goodwill from the heart. You want to succeed in completing the dungeon rite? And as quickly as you can. You don't want to have to wait for someone to wayshrine res and run all the way back. Fastest way to help your dead companions is to soul-gem them rite back into the action. If you have 'em, why wouldn't you? You would just have to be sure and let them know ahead of time that you will be doing this so they don't wayshrine it b4 you can res them.

I love to rezz people even when solo questing, although I always keep one soul gem for myself.
Why I love rezzing people? I'm not certain... I think for me it's a mix of aiding people who - evidently - are in trouble, as well as having the power to restore life

With the Templar ability to have a free rez through gem recovery I don't feel that bad using gems to revive people except when I'm running low.

Group Dungeons its generally a yes if I can get to them and that fight isn't almost over as a gem or two seems a decent trade off for not having to refight a boss.

PvP you have to go situational there since there is little reason to try and revive somebody if your going to get yourself dead in the process. Is also hesitant to rez somebody if they aren't at least natural vet level.

After farming chests for a while, I have almost 200 empty soul gems, and about 147 full ones.

If I see someone who dies, not just laying dead, I will offer them a rez.

    People should rez themselves.
In PvE zones I wont rez random dead ppl I come across. Nothing there is worth my soulgems.
In PvE grouped content I will spend some of my gems if necessary (during ongoing battles) - however, I find it extremely rude if someone groups for an ini but does not bring his own gem supply and expects a free rez after a battle is won.

In C I would rez if there is a reasonable chance that the ongoing battle could still be won; but I usually wont rez randoms I did not see die or the fallout if two zergs collide; that's just a waste of gems (and time).

Death is meaning less in this game. Shards are cheap and easy to fill. If doing a dugn run and a player does not have any, then I start to wonder if they have any potions or food.

If they are not 'doing there best' and using shards, food and potions, then why should I be 'doing my best'.

When doing vet dugn runs I expect all members to have a supply of shards, potions and food (and fully repaired armour) before zoning in. I don't 'ask' if they have those, and I would not kick someone for not having those, but it is bad form.

To my mind it's paying it forward.

I usually have a half dozen charged gems ( thanks, 10% chance to steal souls! ) or more and don't often come across people who actually need a rez so it's not really an inconvenience.

It's more like paying to not be alone. It also help creating attrition for long duration fighting.
Kill more enemies, and you get them to waste more time/gems/forward camps.

It also encourages positive interaction between players.

    Other:

Sometimes, I use them on random's but usually they port away. Sometimes I rez certain Pugs in Cyrodil if they are performing well and I want to keep them in the area. I rez team members, guildies.

Other than that, I don't really spend a lot of time collecting Soul Gems and I don't like using them. Weapons need charged far too frequently for me and my weapons are usually uncharged.

If there is another random player walking around and we "bump" into each other and just run alongside one another killing things, I usually rez them if they are doing well. If it seems like they will just die over and over, I move on.

I suppose "situation specific" is the closest to my choice.
I'll allways res guildies and people in my PVE group.

In Cyrodill it depends. If we're in the inner keep and it's under sige, I'll res high level players so they can help.
