I won't quit specifically because of it but it does help push me that direction. What will make me quit is if they keep making changes to the game that the community doesn't really want for no apparent reason that do nothing for the game.

Great point .. so what is the point of increasing the level cap another two levels then? Just for vanity ... just to do it .. what does it do for the game?

No. If I do quit, it will be due to something far more obtrusive and disruptive to my play (like forced open world PvP).

To be honest, as soon as I heard level 50 was the "level cap" and then veteran ranks were on top of that, I felt it was safe to assume that veteran ranks (= levels) would be added indefinitely.
