Anyone else find leveling fast?

I have three characters and all of them seem to level insanely fast. I don't grind or go out of my way to level and I seem to be outleveling a lot of content. Just trying to get through the normal course of quests and I am already 3 or 4 levels above them. On my most recent alt, I am on a quest to meet the queen at the start of Auridon and I am already level 8, while the quest is level 5.

Does anyone else encounter this? Makes the quests too much of a faceroll, but I really do not want to skip content.

Says the man/woman who has not run into Cadwells quest line yet?

Pre 50, yes, leveling is amazingly fast, but great. VR rank leveling makes babies cry.

I had the same concern when I was like level 35. well on average it takes 450-500 hours of play time to get to max level for normal play style.

Oh you're level 8, wait until vr8. A little bit premature for your view on levelling.

Same here, 4 levels going over the content. I actually keep track of the quests that I need to do first before I out-level them. Most of my quests have now only have 1 level buffer before I out-level them. When you out-level the content by 5 levels, you're not gonna get anything from the mobs (i.e. xp, drops, ULT charge, etc)

Games are meant to be played.

Back in Auriel's Bow 1.0, I have thought that the best way to handicap a faction with the HUGE pop advantage is to temporarily disable their grouping functionality and their ability to fight in 3rd person point of view! Let's see if these do not even up the odds.

Yeah I've heard VR takes forever. Didn't plan on getting there soon though. Wanted to take one character/race from each faction to 50 first, through the storyline. Not too happy about the prospect of VR simply because it's the same quests only scaled.

I always tend to go a little slower on my first characters through MMO's. I like taking everything in on the way. But, I've never leveled so fast before. I am one or two shotting the enemies.

I wouldn't say you level fast at all even from 1-50. Its just that the zones are too crowded with quests so that you can not do them all without out leveling them.

My current Char is 15 and I probably play it since 2 months ;)

Ok I have a busy RL and cant play all day but its still a slow progress. At WOW I gain a level every 15 minutes or so.

I agree levelling pre-50 is too fast, I didn't like constant overlevelling the content and killing mobs which weren't giving any loot. I'm closing to vet5 now and levelling in vet content is just right, really don't get all those rushers moaning it's too slow. Just take your time, enjoy the game, quests, exploring, delves, spontaneous grouping up for public dungeons/anchors/world bosses and you're progressing in right tempo, contrary to pre-50.

It's fast compared to Skyrim. It's extremely slow compared to World of Warcraft.

    It depends on your perspective.

The one thing I hate is running out of quests and being forced to grind monsters for hours on end so I can gain enough levels to start questing again. i don't know how people can do that. It's so tedious.

I'd much rather have a few quests gray out than be under-leveled.

Not unless all you did in Skyrim was craft, hitting max level could be easily achieved within 2-3 maybe 4 hours. That's provided you know where material is, and how often you do craft.

I find leveling in ESO has a good pace, and if you read some other previous posts, there are in fact others out there who find the leveling too slow, and that they are 2-4 levels behind on quests. Then again, they're going about the game terribly wrong.

My first playthrough from levels 1-50 took me around 100 hours ish. That's of course doing every single quest available, and listening to all the content/store/lore of ESO. I imagine I can easily cut 70 hours off of that now just running through quests, and knowing certain builds though.

However, like many have stated, just wait until Veteran Ranks. That might be "your" pace, that is until they convert experience gain from the current system that's in place now to make leveling a little easier again.

Leveling is fast until...level 8? After that it just becomes slower and slower, and at veteran levels it is painful to say the least. Especially if you want to level another character it gets boring for sure, quests aren't especially interesting in the first place, but on the 4th playthrough...gaaah!

Your level in relation to that quest will depend on whether you go to Khenarthi's Roost or not straight after the introduction.

Yes, 1-50 is very fast. I'm always three or so lv's above the quest I'm on. Wait till VR though. My highest character is VR 2 and it's around 900,000 to a million exp to get to VR3 :o

I find leveling fast when you play an alt because you already have full gear for it, knowledge of the game mechanics and knowledge of how to build your character.

That isn't a flaw in the system its a perfection in the person. Vet Levels come really slow.

When I was playing on the beta weekends, it took me the whole weekend to get to lvl 10 and many players did agree that leveling is slow.

Did they change the XP gain for lvl 1-49 ?

That's just the newness factor. When you first start playing it's going to take a little while to figure things out. Game controls, settings, and such. Character builds, zone layouts, point allocation all that stuff is new and takes some time to adjust to. Once you figure all that out the lv's just fly by if you ask me. If I did it again I could easily get to lv10 in a few hours.

hmm in beta it took me a couple days to get to level 12 or 13. (that was the highest I got during the open beta weekend.)

leveling is almost always fast in any mmo, at early levels, its a way to get people hooked and making them feel a sense of accomplishment and the feel that they are getting stronger and stronger by the minute.

if lets say it took like 2-3 hours to get from lvl 1 to lvl 2, u will see many lose interest way to fast, because the feel of progression disapeares right from the start

The pace is good for me. I only have time to play maybe 7 hours a week, and I like to experience all the content I can, do every quest I find, etc., so I am probably leveling a lot slower than average.

I don't want to sound picky but some of you should really improve your reading skills.
For the people saying "Ah, you're level 8, isn't it a bit too early to talk about levelling speed?" and such... It is clearly stated that this is the THIRD character they're levelling...

1-50 does level quickly. These are intro levels simply there to familiarize you with the game. The real work begins when you hit VR.
