Does this come about because some PvP folks were complaining? If so, once again a PvP issue screws up the game for players who primarily focus on PvE, particularly if new "trash" monsters are going to be dealing higher damage.

All they are doing is balancing the game, don't blame PvP for this, it has nothing to do with it. I'm sure there are other games out there where balance never happens and you can play the most OP combo imaginable.
Light armor is way too good atm, glad it is getting a nerf. I don't know much about DK's, so I won't comment on that change.
They should've given medium armor a 2%/4% armor bypass, and increased the damage on Juggernaut to 15%.
@Kewljag_66_ESO of course i've noticed but in Endgame people wouldn't change lightarmor for Full medium(5) or heavy armor(5).
Okay maybe they can nerf it it in pvp but not in PVE. i really disagree.

You make the mistake of assuming I've played other MMO games where this sort of thing has happened or is currently happening (OP equipment/armor/weapons). I have not. ESO is my first MMO, and thus every experience I have had in it is "virginal," so to speak.
The experience has, more or less, been largely positive so far. I'd like to keep it that way, but it seems PvP concerns are intruding more and more upon the PvE sphere.
Hmm. I imagine, coding-wise, it'd be too difficult for ESO programmers to "gate" some changes to the PvP areas of ESO. This latest change, for instance: I'd be fine with it if it activated only upon entering Cyrodiil.

LOL if its a problem in PVP then it is a problem in PVE. Its just that MOBS dont bother complaining.
I really dont understand the mental blockage pvers have understanding this simple concept.

Of course they wouldn't change light for medium or heavy. Light's ridiculously superior. Which is why they are fixing it. If somebody wants to play the heavily armored paladin type, they shouldn't be gimped for choosing to do so.

Only reason to bring in a sorc in a trial is because of their ultimate that silences soft enrages. Their DPS is so subpar that we cancel trials where there are too few NBs and other classes, sorcs without super-top gear fail DPS checks while the other classes don't.
With the nerf, their subpar damage get lower. But hey, they kill stuff in PvP so they have to suck at PvE, shouldn't they?

I was think the same except without really doing number crunching are the current speed and crit bonuses from medium not adding up in terms of balancing the spell penetration provided by light? Adding armor penetration to medium looks analogous, but is it considering the other current bonuses.

ZOS has said that in the future when this sort of thing goes down that your skill points will be returned. If that is indeed the case then I do not have a problem with it.

Even if Zos allow us in the future to reset skillpoints for free do you really think people will be ready to grind hours of hours just to level up to lv50 medium/heavy or lightarmor ???
Well i don't think so !
If you didn't level all 3 on your way to VR then that's kind of on you. Most of us have (I didn't with my main, but that's totally on me, and I haven't repeated that mistake with my alts).@theyancey quoteZOS has said that in the future when this sort of thing goes down that your skill points will be returned.
