I get hit by vol. familiars every evening, twice. Very very frustrating.
They need to get to the bottom of it. With the raised caps each hit does ~270 dmg in my death recap. 2 times that is 540 dmg + plus stun.
Let's hope they fix it soon.
I only really found this familiar useful while leveling up, and this was never an issue that seemed to affect me. Post 50 they get killed faster than a mosquito breeding in bleach so I can't really justify their spot on a skill bar. If you are still leveling up, just stick it out or use another skill

You generally have to recognize a problem to fix it.
ZOS please respond on updates about this. Just a quick, 'we haven't found the issue yet but are still working on it' or something? For those who do not know, at some point certain people were getting their Vol Familiar to explode twice and instead of fixing the bug, it was nerfed temporarily by 40%. For those of us who haven't figured out how to get the dmg to count twice, please fix this issue.

So less than impulse and twice as long to cast (maybe 1.5x as long without lag) with a much smaller radius? And that's only if it bugs out for you and hits twice. I dunno about random times for me but in extensive pvp testing, I've never had it hit twice. Hitting for 270 dmg for me means vol fam is currently a useless skill.
Oh, it was "temporarily" nerfed? I picked it up recently, and noted that when I detonate it, I can barely see the enemy health bar move. I kinda assumed it was bugged and just did nothing.
The stun is nice, but not really worth my entire magicka bar.
No fix for this in update 4. Amazing. I think I'm done waiting for this.
