    Congrats on hitting VR12! :)

/played 20 days with my sorc and I got to VR12. so... roughly 500 hrs. completed almost all quests and spend some time in PvP but never stepped in Craglorn or dungeons after level 30. I know that grinding can get you to VR12 in 9 days, but it was too boring.

Playing since early access and still haven't reached cap yet, am VR8 currently. I have all crafting skills however. I stuck to progressing all crafts equally while I leveled (well, except enchanting, but I got that *** of a profession to 41), so that's probably the biggest chunk of time invested. Sadly it's much faster leveling first and then doing the crafts, after all.

Hmmm. I have eight characters all between level 25 and 35. I will edit with hours played later I suppose, but really it should be sufficient to state I've played regularly since launch. This is my first post btw so YaY me!!! I started reading every book I came across the first week or so, but omg there is just too much to read right? Now I double click the lore books like most I guess while telling myself I'll read them later....righhhht. I still listen to every new conversation while questing and explore ev-ER-y-where! So far I love the game, and find it sad so many are disappointed with "end game". Hopefully all the kinks will be worked out by time I scoot into those lands.

So for my Lvl 35 I played 5 days 11 hours, and for my level 25 I played 1 day 21 hours. I'm guessing about 19 days in total for all 8 lovely characters :)

Be interested to see those how long it took for those playing solo and not using the Craglorn anomalies.

I fit both. played since early access and am still only VR8.

30 days (aproximate - my main has been VR12 for a little while now). Mostly solo play with a little PvP and some of the group dungeons. Have Tamriel Hero. I did do a little skill grinding early on in VR because my build was baaad, but no instant Craglorn anomaly leveling.

    2 weeks playing casually...

    I call BS.

You're not reading anything, just clicking through any text option presented. You can't have any sense of what any of the story actually is.

You're speed racing from location to location, not spending any time exploring anything.

You're logging more hours in a day playing than people who have full-time jobs.

Nothing about that makes your play 'casual'. Getting to VR12 in 2 weeks exemplifies a whole host of things wrong with this game. I can't see how ZOS justifies supporting a leveling system where this is allowable.

You just keep telling yourself that to make you feel better ;)

-you lvl profesisons insanely fast with vr drops vs low lvl ones so skipping crafting is a must for any alt unless u like wasting time.
-No point in listening to the story of why bob lost his pet alligator when the arrow tells me exactly where to go find it.
-I already know the story through observation.
-I actually don't play that often. I just dont waste my time with petty things in game. I also dont use the game as an interactive chat room and stand around tlaking for hours like a ton of people do.
-2 weeks is good for power gaming.... Other MMO's are shorter.

My main just reached VR3 yesterday, with ~11 days /played as of tonight. I take my time, for sure. Some nights, I just wander along a coastline trying to find every nook and cranny, or trying to climb each cliff (having just left Grahtwood!), and so on. :)

Took 9 days of playtime to get to vet8.
However there are people doing the crag grind at vet 12 in 24-30 hours of playtime by getting someone to take them there.

I've been playing since early access, I play for fun and to enjoy the game, especially the story, I believe in stopping to smell the roses and not rushing like a maniac and Iam only v8, I take my time and I solo quest and only went to craglorn once to grind with the guild to see what it's like, but after 30minutes of grinding I felt so bored that I went back to solo questing.

I am still not VR12. I play 100% cyrodiil and hit VR10 last night. Started early access.

What was your play style and how long /played did it take you to get from 10 to VR10? I'm trying to level a toon exclusively in Cyrodil and it seems quite slow.

I have to check played hours when I get back home. Probably alot of hours. I play mostly solo or with 1-2 guys. So all small scale.

But they raised the VP/XP/AP several times in cyrodiil. It's around last patch it got better. I did half the level of rank 9 in one day. That would have been impossible earlier.
Add PvP loot drops for some risk/reward in this game.

Let's see, my main just hit level 30 at 4 days and a bit, I also have a level 22 at 2.5 days, a level 16 at not quite 2 days, a couple of 12s at about a day each, and a couple of 8s I didn't bother to check.

Oh that's nice, I'm curious how viable that is for alternative leveling pre Vet and post Vet. If you can get a VR every second day it's not bad, considering you do get skill points for PVP Ranks too (I heard there was around 30+ or so, I only have 6 so still some stuff to do!).

You could grind to VR1 in less than 24 hours /played at release, now that people can equip alts with better gear, know better places, more of the game works and they have nerfed a lot of mobs I wouldn't be surprised if you could do it in 12. Even doing every main quest, skill point quest, dungeon, WB and Dolmen it didn't really take long.

If you enjoy listening to every word this one says .. good for you I'm glad you enjoy it but it doesn't make you superior or the people who just want to get passed it inferior. Some people just want to PvP and don't really care that this one's brother is making skooma or whatever.

VR11 I've done every zone to almost perfect white across the board, except Craglorn. Trying to do it without being forced to group for things, but it is a pain in the ass. I find the PvP dailies the best way to get around it, but it is time consuming and control keeps swaying to one side; not mine. I don't mind joining dungeon groups if it's voluntary, but forced group content is bull**** to continue progressing in the open world.

It's not really BS. There might be some rushing involved, but my experience was similar. It took me a little over 3 weeks to hit VR10 from early access, with some sidetracking in Cyrodiil. Granted, I had been in PTS and beta and knew most of the quests and fights by heart.

I didn't skip anything. I got the exploration and quest achievements for every zone, including my alliance, Cadwell's Silver, and Cadwell's Gold. I did every dolmen, world boss, delve, public dungeon, and VR dungeon in the game. When I hit VR10, I had maxed 4 crafting professions (clothing, blacksmithing, alchemy, and provisioning).

I keep hearing people talking about "exploring", but what is there to explore in this game? The quests will lead you to every area in the game and you will easily get the exploration achievements by just following the quest path. There is next to nothing that you are going to find by just roaming around and all it does waste time because you'll end up going to those locations anyway.

Personally, I don't care how long it takes someone to level, but I'm not sure how I could have gone much slower. I think some people take longer because they don't have a guild, friends, or people they know to help them with some areas. Spamming zone chat looking for a group every time that you want to do a dungeon or delve can slow things way down.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I respectfully disagree with your exploration observation as it does not align with my experience. I have found many rewards for exploring every tower, behind every ruin, along every beach, island, crag, etc. including quests that one would not find just by following the quest series. I have been teleported to a Mesa by a sorceress in a tower, found messages in bottles, discovered lore, and stumbled upon some majestic scenery along with numerous humorous NPC conversations. Also I tend to find treasure chests like they were weeds.

In the end we all enjoy the game in our own way. Congratulations on reaching veteran rank!

So as the title says, how much did it take for you (yes you!) to reach VR 12? Or if you haven't reached it yet, how much is your /played time and what level are you at right now?

I have been puttering in the game, been playing since release week. I have 3 Active Characters, two of whom just beat Molag Bal this week, one is starting Coldharbor and should be done by the end of the week.

I have one character I am taking through Caldwell's Silver. I have done the two starter islands and am halfway to VR2. So, I don't see too much of a grind to get there, just a lot of questing (it's a grind, but better than having to kill a 1000 of this or 1000 of that).

So, to answer your question and also whether I am going to try to level all 3 at the same time. Knowing me, all 3 will get leveled to some extent. So, figure another month or two of 3 to 4 hour evenings to get to VR12 for one of my characters.

Funny thing, only a few of my skills are at 50, the rest are in the 40's or 30's.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I have been playing for 3.5 months. I have a VR11 dragon knight, which was completed through all POI's, world bosses, and public dungeons in all areas.(Cadwell's Gold) No Craglorn grind which I have just started for this toon. I also have a 40 templar and 25 ranking mage. No rush to reach a 12 and the other 2 will take the same route. All three have Tyro ranking in Cyrodiil.

I think it took me about 4 weeks with my Templar, and I know (thx to Craglorn) that I only needed 2 weeks with my Dragonknight.

Cannot give played-times, as I reached VR12 with both long ago, so taking my current payed-times would be extremely inaccurate.

Thx to Giny, Sarana, Thaili, Derra, Cherahim, Gloy, Raweelz and Drimacus, you make the game worth playing even with AoE-caps, no usefull progression past Assault / Support Rank 10, and with PvP being not even close to balanced.
