Alternate Leveling Paths

I am feeling dissatisfied with the direction my class is heading so I want to make a new character, but I just don't know how I will slog through all of the DC quests again and then grind in Craglorn from VR1 to VR12 again. I might be able to handle the Craglorn grind, because it's pretty quick, but this would be the third time I've done the DC quests (I managed to take another DC alt to ~30). I just don't think I can do it.

Is the Cyrodiil non-vet campaign viable for leveling? Is pre-Craglorn grinding viable anywhere? I know Coldharbor has a good spot, but that's also kind of late in the game.

How do you get around doing the same quests over and over when making alts of the same faction?

I can't answer any of your questions unfortunately, but I was wondering what class it is you play currently? (I promise I won't try to change your mind, I'm just really curious)

I don't want to turn this into a class argument. It's not so much the class itself but the class + role that I am not satisfied with. If you look through my post history you should be able to tell what I play if you really wanted to know.

Suffice it to say that I wold at least like to have options should I continue to feel dissatisfied.

Grinding is an option at any level, just have to find a less than crowded spot.

But is it efficient at low levels? It's only efficient in Craglorn because you can kill bosses once a minute.

Why not just grind through the game like you are supposed to and actually do the vet content vr1-vr12 There you actually learn how to play your character and dont end up being one of those failures in Dungeon groups who have to be carried the whole time. You also can max out all your skills that way and if you are smart with gold, you can make a fortune.

I'll answer your questions and warn you do be more civil should you choose to respond again.

    1. I have already done the DC quests once in full and then again up until Rivenspire. They are boring and I don't wish to do them again.

    2. I have done the AD quests twice in full. I don't wish to do those a third time.

    3. I do not need to learn to play any character. I have been playing MMOs for a very long time and this game is very easy. I would be at no disadvantage by not doing quests. Quite the opposite, in fact, as one would be in combat far more often grinding to max level versus questing there.

    4. Most skills in this game are obviously terrible and don't need to be maxed out. You can easily increase skills while grinding in Craglorn.

    5. I already have a fortune, much more than you make doing quests.

Maybe ESO isn't for you? Also, whether or not you believe it. Playing through the content still shows. You encounter various situations which you adapt to and learn your various skill uses. You probably are one of the predictable Sword'nBoard/Staff Light Armor builds that get smashed in Cyrodil. And i'll end with, criticism is not uncivil. Dont be so sensitive.

PS. Your skills dont level faster in craglorn.

If playing through the content helps you, then that's great. Some people don't need to.

Your skills level when you gain experience. You gain experience the fastest in Craglorn. I have leveled skills both through questing and through Craglorn grinding. Both have their merits, but you can do it in Craglorn while you level at a much faster pace.

Criticism is not incivility. The uncivil language you choose to use is uncivil.

Yes, you can aoe grind to 50. Basically, look for spots with non-ranged mobs, aggro as many as you can handle, kill, rinse, repeat. There's guides out there, so you might want to ask google.

As for leveling in campaigns, I heard it's better but still slow. So if you're not a die hard pvp'er, that's probably no viable solution for you. Other than that, I know nothing but the quest grind.

The problem then becomes that AoE grinding isn't very viable for a little while. I'd be making a Templar, so at least I'd get Biting Jabs early, but it would be until at least level 30+ before I'd open up Impulse/Sun Shield/etc. for really efficient grinding.

I once tried one of those guides to level 8. It's a lot faster than questing even in the beginning, when you have to deal with single mobs. But it's just not my style (yet). If you're looking for the fastest way to cap, that one it is.

So... basically you want the ability to create an Alt that jumps to vr12?
This goes against the point of any game ever.

Also, this would set a sad precedent for future games who would all say, "ESO made an EZMOAD, maybe we should too!"

What the hell, why not add full raid gear on character creation.

I want to replace my current main as quickly as possible while doing content that I already haven't just done a month ago. Other MMOs offer alternate levelnig zones, at least in the beginning, or comparable XP while PvPing or running dungeons.

Again, please keep things civil and don't put words in my mouth.
