So, how long it took you to get to VR 12?

So, I just got my first character to VR 12 yesterday despite actively playing since early access. Yet, I still have half of Greenshade and whole Malabar Tor and Reaper's March ahead of me. Yes, I am guilty of some Craglorn grinding back when I was struggling with my Templar on VR content months ago (before the Templar buff and VR content nerf).

Se0Xy0S.jpg

Anyway, as you can see on the pictures, it took me 22 days and 6 hours, so 534 hours. Not bad if I might add and I still have stuff ahead of me. Definitely got my money's worth.

And here is a picture from the moment of reaching VR 12! (I also got Clothing and Alchemy to 50 yesterday, what a coincidence!)

8S0GVQv.jpg

This is the first I did not rush to the highest level at all. I also loved leveling up in SWTOR too, but it got a bit less fun towards the end. I admit, sometimes I just had too much of questing here too but it is because I just quest when I log in. Rarely I do veteran dungeons or PvP, but as I continue questing I somehow keep enjoying it.
Now, I will focus on Craglorn, dungeons and try trials if I find a guild/group that doesn't ask for achievements.

So as the title says, how much did it take for you (yes you!) to reach VR 12? Or if you haven't reached it yet, how much is your /played time and what level are you at right now?

I was vr10 when craglorn and vr12 came out. took me about 24 hours to get to vr12 from vr10 without any particular xp farming.

how long time it took me to go from 1-vr10 I cant recall.

I hit v10 before craglorn with still POI and quests left in alikr desert and bangkorai. Post craglorn, finished them that took me to v11 and did half of craglorn questing that took me to v12. From v10 to v12, I'd say 8 hours.

To see how much time you spent on the game, type /played in the chat window.

I seem to have played a total of 25 days since early access (yikes! So much for me being a "casual" player), but I have split that time across two alts and taken my sweet time to smell the flowers, so I am still only at VR2 with both of them. My newly started level 11 Sorcerer (only 17 hours played so far) seems to be getting most of my attention now, and I might actually never bother to reach VR12 with the other two characters.

Speaking of which, the Sorcerer class feels so much more powerful in solo fights than my Templar which hit a brick wall with the pre-nerf VR content, and my Nightblade that was struggling even around lvl 30 while that class was both crippled and bugged. The game also seems to be a lot easier than what it was a couple of months ago. I never took note of any numbers before, but some early bosses like Doshia, Gutsripper and Balreth now seem like complete pushovers.

Yes, unfortunately many bosses and encounters were nerfed. I just wish they would put an optional companion or make us be able to group up in those solo dungeons so if people are struggling, they can get help either from an NPC or a friend.

I will also want to try out all the classes, I already played with all play styles except for the destruction staff one. I started leveling up bow at around vet 7 and dual wield when the cheap reset came. Since then, I switched my 2H/heavy armor solo play style to dual wield+bow/medium armor while I always heal in dungeons, as always.

However, I just made another reset and started picking up tanking and getting back Heavy Armor (at the cost of Enchanting skill points) because I never tanked in MMOs and it seems fun and challenging and tanks are always a dying breed. :P

    How much time....

    Four months.
From March 30th to July 31st. Playing around 40 hours per week. Questing, exploring the map, and testing various abilities, morphs and setups.

Took me 30 days to get from 1 to 50, by questing and exploring the AD & Coldharbour.

No point to rush. Most of the time, spent on Exploring....

3 months to VR10 doing every quest, world boss, dolmen, and delve (no dungeons).

2 weeks from VR10 - 10.5 doing everything in Cyrodiil.

Roughly 7ish hours from VR10.5 - 12 grinding in Craglorn.

Can we see the /played answer? (For all, realize the OP has it)

It will give a more definitive result, as people play at different rates, but the hours played will show how much in game time.

    Thanks in advance.

By the time craglorn was out I was just hitting V10 it took a couple days after that to hit V12 and that was completing most of the quests and Cadwell's gold. Since then I have another V12 and a V7. The others I only did the quests that gave skillpoints, did craglorn grinding and it didn't take long at all, since I had already done the majority of quests I didn't have any desire to redo them. I have not even been leveling in the last month.

561 hours on my main with about a million xp left in VR11. All quests completed through final zone in Cadwell's Gold and I just did core quests there with a little Craglorn grinding. At least half my time has been spent leveling all crafting to 50 except Enchanting which is just now 41 lol.

Currently at VR9(.75 :#) with main character. I don't plan on taking him past VR10 after I finish Reaper's March thus completing all maps. He is a poorly built melee type and has been a struggle. He'll be a complete failure in Craglorn trails, etc. I'm currently leveling a DK fire mage (desto/resto staffs) and am having a blast with her. I'm looking forward to getting her to VR12. I'm certain my journey with her will go a lot faster and provide far more enjoyment.

I think I went from like vr4 to v12 right before the anomaly nerf a while back....so about 2 months from 1 to v
But congrats on your v12....now that you will have nothing to do but gain achievements...go start another character

You didn't say if you have Cadwell silver or gold...

I did say (I think) that I have half of Greenshade left + Malabal Tor and Reaper's March left plus most of Craglorn. And then there are the dungeons, both Vet and Craglorn ones and hopefully some trials and alts of course. I really want to try the other classes as well with different playstyles.

Oh and Cyrodiil! I love it even though I go there like 2 times a month. It will increase soon though. :P And not just for the PvP but for the dungeons, Skyshard hunting, quest hubs and so on. I have plenty of stuff to do still!

It's nice to see people are actually taking their time leveling, in most MMOs people rush.

Started at early access, still at VR8. No Craglorn (haven't even gone), and am missing all vet dungeons past Fungal Grotto, Spindleclutch, and Banished Cells. I took off about 2 weeks of play in May/June cause of a death in the family. I'm not 'grinding', I've respeced once (this last weekend actually, just to get medium armor over heavy armor), and only have spent maybe 2 weekends in PvP. Basically I'm just playing the single player mode of the game.

2 weeks playing casually just farming quests on my alt got me lvl1-vr1 I will probably hit vr12 on my alt in the next 2-3 days grinding in craglorn.

    Huge wastes of time:
-Upgrading gear constantly. (I upgrade my gear once every 10 lvls, the stat difference is marginal lvl to lvl)
    -PVP before vr12
-grinding (quests are easy to do at low lvls and can completed very quickly and also net gold)
-Dont worry about deconstructing anything at low lvls Just vendor it all (also nets more gold)

    2 weeks playing casually...

    I call BS.

You're not reading anything, just clicking through any text option presented. You can't have any sense of what any of the story actually is.

You're speed racing from location to location, not spending any time exploring anything.

You're logging more hours in a day playing than people who have full-time jobs.

Nothing about that makes your play 'casual'. Getting to VR12 in 2 weeks exemplifies a whole host of things wrong with this game. I can't see how ZOS justifies supporting a leveling system where this is allowable.

I would also be surprised if you could get to VR 1 casually in 2 weeks. If we say that casually is 2-3 hours at best each day, it's only 14-21 hours played time. If you really totally skip every conversation and just rush, not bothering about professions or anything, it might be slightly possible but you would miss out a great chunk of fun that way.

My highest character, which I've had since early access and put the most time into, is VR1 still, almost VR2.

My second highest is level 43, and next after that is a level 6 alt, that's all three of the characters on my account.

I just dont enjoy the game as much as I did at launch. So much negativity going around now, and still a lot of core issues with game mechanics, bugs, and performance, it makes me not want to throw any time into the game anymore. At most I get an hour or two in per night, usually not even that much - my time goes towards other games lately.

Probably about 28 days or a little less. I completed every public dungeon (in the three alliances), killed every world boss, completed three group dungeons, completed Caldwell's gold and I still had to grind the last 900,000 points. I have not been to Craglorn. I'm not exactly satisfied with my character but I can't see myself creating a new character at this point, I give big kudos to those people who do though.

I've been playing since early access and I'm STILL not VR 12. No rush to get there, either.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.
