PLEASE no more group quests! I beg you!

serious.. I played dozend of MMORPG out there and one reason why group quests in many times is not common or optional is because it sucks ball if you are stuck in a game because of others.

Yeah yeah, people will argue its a "mMULITPLAYERorpg" .. where you play with others bla bla bla bla.. nope, sorry. Yeah its right that we want to play with others.. IF WE WANT TO. not being forced on each others asses to continue the stuff in craglorn.

I love playing with others the instances where I can automatically join a group after a certain amount of time. However, you don´t have a grouping system for quests so .. lets do the good old "LF people with quest XYZ (starting quests)" .. and then just ENTER .. UP... ENTER while you stand there and wait.. and wait.. and wait.. and wait..

and after about 30 minutes of waiting I normally grind 2-3 monsters and then logg off because I just can´t stand spending my free time waiting for others to come along to do quests with me.

and yeah, I´m in 4 guilds which are no trading guilds. Just level and progress guilds and when ever I ask if someone has time to do the craglorn quests with me its either

a) oh sorry, I´m not in the level range to do it
b) oh sorry, I already did it after waiting a few weeks for people
c) oh sorry, we are already a full group, please try with the next dudes that get to vet12

by the way.. from 10 people only 1 makes it to vet12, so .. yeah, good chances for me.

why don´t you make the quests soloable but really hard. just leave the mechanics aside where you need multiple persons (standing on activation stones, 3 people).
I love challenges and I don´t have a problem with trying a boss a dozend times solo or call some people for help if needed.

However, mechanics that NEED people with the same progress and the same quests are unnecessary frustrating.

I understand your point that you want to create group content, but no MMO ever did it like this because they know from the deepest hearts that players don´t want to be forced to play together, they want to be motivated to play together but also have the option to do it alone ..

at least thats how it is for me.

I get goosebumps if I think at 1.4 and all the group content that will come. moste likely it is designed in the same manner. -.-

    Think of grouping as the biggest challenge in the quest.

    Having group quests is fine and preferred by me. However, the phasing system is horrible and needs fixed in order for quest grouping to work.

    I would be too if the group questing system wasn't entirely broken, leaving players all over the place, isolated from other players who could help them.

    yeah, have fun looking for 2 other dudes with the same quest and the same progress, just to step on 2 other plates .. if you don´t find those two dudes your stuck. hf :)

    They could fix the finding people on the same step issue without doing away with group quests entirely.

    Exactly, IMHO they need to implement something that gives you the option to put you in phase with the least progressed member of your group on any given quest.

    Something along the lines of , least progressed player selects quest XYZ in his/her journal, everyone else in the group gets a pop-up asking if they want to start at that players progression in XYZ quest, of course they would have to also include blocking duplicate quest turn in XP and loot.

    I think that would make grouping for quests much easier even if the more progressed players had to go backwards and redo quest steps.

    It does suck that some quests can't be done because you can't find a group, but IMO, the issue is not in the fact there are multiple people quests but in the grouping tool itself.

    I made a post here about how the questing could be improved for the best. With that system implemented, it would only take you minutes to find a group for the content you want to do.

    Although most people here will recognise me as a big practitioner for Solo content I don't actually agree with Zenimax not giving us any more group content.
    What I would like to see is equal amounts of Group & Solo content added on a regular basis !

    There will ALWAYS be group centent in an MMO that can't be solo'd. It's just the nature of the beast. If there wasn't a large amount of group content, people would be running for the hills. MMOs have to include group content to survive.

    After doing 3 full Factions alone I want group content. What I want is for the champion level to be put in, Vet levels taken out so that maybe there will be more people in Craglorn so I can find groups easier. I love my guilds but sometimes I just want to hop on and pug a group for an hour or two and meet new people.

    Agree with this, and i'm expecting from next updates, more quest for more than only 4 players.
    With all my guildmates, we like play together and divide ourselves to play in group donjon is so frustrating.

    its not black & white, its actually just to get the option to do it solo even if VERY hard. the current content FORCE you to group up. its not optional to play it the way you want. you get forced to play it like the game wants

    just for example, I currently try to solo banished cells. even if it was not intended it can be done. there is nothing which actually needs more people except the difficulty and thats the challenge.

    I understand that people like grouping, I also do like it with my friends. I don´t like it when I´m forced to group when I want to do simple quest progress. -.-

    I just don't understand this new mentality of players demanding access to everything in an MMO as a single player. I've never seen it before this and I've been playing MMOs for over 20 years.

    Why MUST you be able to solo every single piece of content in the entire game? Why is it so hard to grasp the concept that an MMO is designed for both solo and group play but neither exclusively?

    I've never seen such a crowd of people demanding to solo everything. I'm guessing it's ES fans that are used to single player rpg games. But this isn't a single player rpg. This is an MMO. I just don't get it.

    I'm all for group content, but group content should be repeatable and things that anyone can drop into anytime, like trials and dungeons. Quests that are phased should always be possible to do solo. Zenimax should learn from Craglorn and not repeat that mistake again.

    Well the good news is that when the veteran system is scraped for the campion system you won't have to worry about leveling from vr10-12 in craglorn and you can just consider it a big group dungeon like the other 4-man dungeons.

    they are also working on the phasing system starting with craglorn in order to allow better cohesion in craglorn exactly for this purpose.

    I think if you wait a few major updates you'll be able to go back and do craglorn with much fwer problems and still get to experience everything in terms of quests.

    Yeah, its because people can't "grasp" the concept. Maybe you can grasp the fact that people would be happy to run a group if it didn't take all day to get one going for what they're looking for.

    If they can't fix the grouping issue then the next obvious step would be to conform to the rest of the game and make content more soloable. Right now it takes 10X the time to find a group as to run the content.

    Some dungeons are group content so why is group content outside of the dungeons different? What is wrong with that?

    We would like to tell you about the exciting new changes to the game but we can't give you a date... but here's a sneak peek at the new group content...that so many people have commented on.....

    We really push the limits of your subscriptions. ..we actually have a system that monitors when subs drop so we will know when to announce things that probably won't make it to the game anyway.....

    We are currently working on a new group content area......

    ....please continue to leave your feedback...because an actual person will be on our end to totally dismiss it....

    ...since we know better what you want then you do...keep paying your sub fees so sometime next year we can hire a game developer to actually start working on werewolf passives....

    But we are happy to announce new group content...and look for our next road ahead when subscriptions drop below our car payments....we here at zenimax have some sweet rides!!!!

    Craglorn, especially the group quests within it, have been an abject failure within this game. Even if the grouping and phasing worked properly, the Craglorn group quests would still be awful and rarely completed because people do not group for quests in this game apart from the dungeons and trials. There is a thread on here with a guy who has been waiting for 3 months to find fourth person for the Guardians quest in Craglorn. He simply cannot find enough people (a full group of four) to complete it. This problem is only going to become worse as time moves on and there are even more options for questing besides Craglorn for upper level players.

    While it is still in development, ZOS needs to overhaul their upcoming Murkmire group zone an convert every single quest to be solo/duo player friendly. Otherwise the zone will be as dead as Craglorn and the questing complaints will only continue to mount.

    things that ESO does different to other MMORPG:

    - grinding craglorn is more effective to level than questing. this leads to less people to do the quest
    - craglorn content is VERY difficult for player with level < vet5. tired the quest yesterday with 3 other people all around vet2-5. no chance, most got one hit by certain monster types (at least it was funny as hell). this leads to a even less target group where you could do your quest with
    - further worse. people need to have the same quest status as you (continue in the middle of the quest only if others have the same status like you)
    - further worse. you MUST do the quests to get certain other quests. quest chains are linked together and build on top of each other

    I understand the wish to do stuff in groups or larger allies but ESO just build everything around single player mechanics and then introduced MMO features and group stuff. comon, am I the only one who thinks this can´t work out pretty well?

    or things like the time trials where the wording "play as you want" gets mocked like in no other game. because to compete with others you need to make the one cookie cutter spec that everyone plays. aka the cloth trials.

    there are just flaws in the logic of this game that I don´t get ^^

    I agree completely. 1 hour of waiting - 10 minutes of clearing a small quest dungeon. Annoying as hell.
