Utilizing Oblivion (the realm not the game)

So I was thinking, thinking about the world map, its limited space, and a lot of stuff I think might be interesting to see in the game.

The more I thought about it, the more I felt that keeping tamriel as a pve content location would be the best option. Cyrodiil is already more or less off limits as its a pvp zone, meaning there isn't much in terms of pve content and storyline (yes there is pvp but limited, and im sure as hell not listening to an NPC voice over while NB's sneak up to gank me)

So I was thinking about using Oblivion. Doesn't have to be molag bal's cold harbor.... but im sure they could think of a few daedric princes with their own realm, styled in a unique way, that could be used for say...player housing...and things like guild halls that may or may not be sieged by competing guilds.

This would have a few benefits imo, over doing such things in Tamriel. First of all how can you do player housing without instancing in a game like this. How lame would it be to have the one door for all players in a player housing location crowded with people going in and out like the bank vault door? If they were to make a more believable player housing towns and villages...its competing with space that perhaps would be better used to form story content to better provide a story of that location.

You could literally build several different oblivion player realms, add unique stories to them, and lessen the lame look of a busy player housing door, or cluttering valuable space on the Tamriel map with player homes, restricting future content in those areas (I often feared that Vvardenfell was being reserved for player housing for instance)

Anyway just throwin it out there. Oblivion gives the devs a lot of power to get away with a lot of cool stuff that wont restrict future content. Ill be honest, as much fun as I have in Cyrodiil with pvp...it kinda pains me that the whole entire area will never be used for storyline content.

I like that idea. The only thing I liked in Oblivion was the oblivion plains.

This. We don't need to be using every daedric prince's realm as a PvE zone, don't you think they would notice the intrusion of hundreds of players building *** all over their lands? MAYBE the shivering isles because that's basically just Tamriel with lots of insane people (sheo wouldn't care at all), and coldharbour worked because we brought an army with us, a powerful aedric artifact and we had the help of another prince. But seriously, player homes in Apocrypha, the deadlands, moonshadow etc. would be *** RIDICULOUS. [snip]

    Love,

    Me

Building in the realms of deadric princes should be out of the question. Being rewarded with a pocket of oblivion for your own use, not so much. Maybe even just take it with powerful magic. It's not like such things haven't been done before. So there's enough wiggle room for oblivion housing, methinks.
"You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"

Maybe a questline that invloves tearing away a piece of coldharbour while Molag Bal is weakened.

Honestly, I want my house on Tamriel, but I'd like something such as setting adventure zones in Oblivion, and using Tamriel for solo PVE.

Actually I don't see why you couldn't carve out your own niche in oblivion. Other characters have done it, and clearly if you're veteran 12 you're at the magical apex... even the Warrior built characters. Mages Guild people have been doing this for years, and in fact there are npc's in the game you run across who have lived (or even grown up in) Oblivion. Its not necessarily sane or normal, but I don't see why people couldn't potentially live here any less than they might live in Shornhelm or Windhelm or Auridon or whatever. You have to recognize who and what our characters are. We are as a whole akin to Hercules, Perseus, Odysseus, Beowulf, Sigurd, Gilgamesh, and others. That's what ESO heroes are.
