1st stage:
- When you see him raise his staff and turn to face someone, he's going to send a giant skull at them. That person needs to block the skull in order to cut its damage in half. If they don't, the healer will be overworked.
- He will also raise his staff and stand in place while creating the AoE chains. He summons them on your location, so keep moving. Don't waste a roll-dodge on that if you can avoid it.
- He will occasionally teleport to a grate to summon two adds. Burn them down. Fast. (Unless you're going for the achievement.)
- The last main ability he has here is that he will sometimes teleport directly to a player. The instant he does this, or the instant you see him glowing blue, get away from him. He does a massive AoE that centers on himself, and it will one-shot you if you're caught in it.
- This phase is not a DPS race, so if you just steadily keep damaging him during the times that it's possible (no adds up, etc.), you will be fine. But you really can't make a mistake with the skull or his teleport-AoE.
2nd stage:
- This one is a bit of a DPS race.
- Tank should keep the boss on themselves and be using any mitigation they can for his regular attacks.
- Occasionally, he will grab someone up in the air and shield himself. I have heard that the grabbed player should spam "X" at this point, but having never been grabbed, I'm not sure what the purpose of that is. What I do know is that the boss will not let that player go until his shield is down, so DPS needs to burn him especially hard during this part.
- Ideally, you should be able to get him down after one of those. Definitely after two. Make sure that DPS have abilities that increase damage on low health targets (Impale/whatever-the-other-morph-is for Nightblades, etc.)

As long as you're using magicka build on DPS, it should be smooth sailing.
