Yea, Destiny looks meh...
Thing about the console forums is, you have to be an active member to get a forum account and post, so not many would be in that section yet.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the console versions. It's pretty telling that ZOS won't even give a time frame now for their release. It's even more telling that neither Microsoft nor Sony even mentioned TESO recently at E3 or Gamescon as one of their upcoming games.
Personally, I don't think the console versions are ever going to happen.

Reminds me of all the people on the GTA forums saying it would never get to PC, or next gen consoles. Never underestimate a companies desire to sell a product.

Yep. No other explanation.

Perhaps it will become a 2016 title(I hope not) but I do agree that no news is not good news considering the lack of anything over the last few expos.
@Zos_ care to chime in about the Forum question/suggestion ?
I'd like not to have to use PC forums prior to launch and prior to character transfer information.

The latest news about console release can be seen in the game updates. They have already started adding properties for controllers. You can see these in the game settings ini, and you can also see a new button called "Jump or Activate" in the controller settings. While official news hasn't come for a couple months, these small updates show that they are working on it.

The console files are nothing from the PC files.

So console ESO is a whole different game made from scratch? Smh.

Yes just like Diablo 3
The game that was to launch wouldn't run on xbox live or PSN so they needed six months plus to go back and make console builds.

Proof? Porting files to a new system doesn't always require building the entire game from scratch.

The consoles have always been a different build.

See, while ZeniMax was hard at work on the PC version of The Elder Scrolls Online, they began to consider the possibility of developing console versions of their MMO. The PC version was always in the cards, from the very beginning, but the prospect of bringing the game to the PS4 and Xbox One arose later into development. That, in turn, put those console versions slightly behind their PC counterpart.
But while the console versions will get to learn from the PC version’s mistakes, Sage was quick to point out that mouse and keyboard players should not consider themselves “beta testers.”
“What we wanted to do when we started the game, it was meant for PC and then with the new consoles coming out we thought they were great and we went, ‘Hey, this is something we hadn’t considered originally that we can do now’, and if anything it’s to do with that rather than anything nefarious. It’s about production and we want to obviously have the best game possible on consoles as well as PC.”
Ultimately, it’s a situation we’ve seen before: a console version (or versions) delayed simply by virtue of timing. A developer starts off with one goal in mind and then, at some point in development, that goal balloons to include more ambitious ideas. That isn’t to say gamers are happy about the delay, but at least they have an answer. Now, if The Elder Scrolls Online slips into 2015, however, then that might be a different issue.

Where in this article does it say consoles need the game built from scratch?

I take "versions" to suggest a different build and the other comments solidify that it had to be redone as what they had didn't pass certification for either console.

I don't think you know how these games are made. Most of the files in ESO (scripts, meshes, textures, sounds, etc.) will all be the exact same. All they have to do to port them to consoles is make the application which runs the game. Similar to them creating a Mac version, the game is the exact same, but the application is adapted for running on the new OS. Files such as controller configurations just carry over once the system can read them correctly. And a few other tweaks are made for the console because of specific hardware. They do not make the game from scratch. The word "version" simply refers to a copy of the game running on a different OS. The game is the same. The reason they delayed the release on console was because they hadn't finished many important fixes yet, so they were behind schedule.

You just described "from scratch"
No company is making the "same" title on another platform and omitting all or most files.
