My rookie brick wall experiences while playing

Post them if you got them; right here. B)

1) A lack of warning prior to drowning due to swimming.
2) No loot at all when 5 levels too high.

For #2, I am sure we can find a way to prevent grinding in rookie areas other than taking the entire issue and just tossing it under the train like this.

In my humble opinion the solution is just unprofessional and reeks of disasterous quick fixes so that SOMEBODY can just zoom back to their gaming addictions.

I lack the vocabulary to describe the anguish this loot level lock has on my gaming experience; THERE HAS TO BE ANTOHER WAY THAN THIS!

#1 You didn't drown, you got eaten. :) it's how ESO handles water boundaries.

#2 is 100% by design to prevent farming. Some of the mobs drop significant loot (blue/purple) which is actually very valuable even at higher levels.

Additionally, you get nothing from mobs when you out level them...no experience either. So there is no point, at all to kill mobs >5 levels lower except to close out a quest objective.

You did not drown. You should have got an award actually. Slaughtered.

LOL. Five levels up, I'm often that far down. No nothing for for you!

low level mobs need to drop loot for people out of the level range. We can't get lower level crafting mats otherwise, or stuff like guts for fishing.

If you go kill low level mobs that drop leather you still get the leather drops. Just not everything else.

    It's working as intended.

You can easily acquire lower level crafting materials by harvesting the resources required for them. You don't need loot drops to do that. You want crafting materials? Easy. Mine ore, harvest jute, etc....

Animal mobs, even if they are far below your level, still drop hides and skins.

So, to make a long story short, even a VR12 can harvest materials in a starter zone in order to craft lower level items.

The only reason someone would want the 5+ level restriction taken away is to sit there and farm and complete a certain set.

there are no nodes for leather. And currently, leather and guts are not dropping for higher level people.

I don't know what changed then, because I still get skins when I kill deer and other animals. I also get guts when I accidentally nuke a rat in a dungeon with an AOE.

hmm, maybe the most recent maintenance fixed it?
