    That sounds awesome.
DAOC originally had something similar. (It was eventually dumbed down after many years.)

    That sounds awesome.
From my experience, i used 4 weapons in this game while leveling my character, first with shields which is useful to learn the game mechanics but the damage is too low, then i tried healing staff for pvp which is nice but again the damage is not great, also tried two hand weapons they have good skills and do a pretty good damage but i didn't like how they turned out in pvp and at the moment i'm trying a bow spec.

My first impression is that it looks good but still i feel like it's missing something, the other weapons have nice spells that add depth to the gameplay, for instance sorceress using staff, or even dks and templars using heavy weapons, it feel like you must play a nb to be actually useful using bows. My character is a templar and it's a full stamina build.

I those ideas great make ranged more interesting like staffs skill line is now.

What it's missing are arrows in the air, flight paths, range, aiming, arc trajectories, leading your target etc. Basically everything that makes bows so much fun in single player games.

Bows are my favorite weapons in Morrowind and Skyrim (haven't played Oblivion) and I've downloaded mods to expand on them and add crossbows and more arrow types.

I see no mention of the Composite Bow. Just a side step to explain the difference between "compound bow" and "composite bow", just in case, a composite bow stave is constructed out of multiple materials with glue and a compound bow uses compound pulleys to mechanically increase the power of the draw.

Composite Bows require a different shooting action in that you push the stave forward rather than pull the string back. The staves were generally small and made of at least three dissimilar materials glued together (ie horn, wood and sinew). They were used primarily in places that didn't have wood suitable for staves. Historically the Turkish Composite Bow had a range of 600m with special Flight Arrows and 400m with War Arrows.

It could be, and was, used from horses by the tribes of Mongolia, the Russian Steppes and the Middle East.
