RE: chat bubbles. I think they're a completely pointless waste of development time. I'd much rather see the devs add the ability to create a separate chat window for /group /say /emote, and not just a tab.
Though since apparently some RP'ers have trouble remembering that Boris Ulfgard is that Nord guy on the right, while Lilianna Rosewood is the Bosmer gal on the left, perhaps they could add an option to have a nameplate show up over peoples heads for a short time after they /group /say /emote, just to make it a bit more obvious where the guy named "Boris Olfgard" that just "/em leers at Liliana" is standing, so they can face the right direction when they "/em attempts to throw down his gauntlet in front of Boris, but misses and hits him in the face with it instead"...
The biggest thing that would help RP is to have a way to report the trolls and punishments for trolling be enough. I was having a nice RP scene with a friend and a troll came in, took off their armor and decided to do pushups on us. If we can report the trolls and Zeni do something about them... that would be a huge improvement. And btw, the troll said this was not a MMORPG, just a MMO.
that is a very nice list, i agree with all your points, and bumping thread even though this is not my thing at all
however, and starting with a disclaimer i would like you to read:
-- i respect your desire to RP. Fully --
i would also request you'd be given an RP /say, so the rest of us could be spared, and i honestly mean no offense;
i do wish you guys and gals RPed in private, in guild, or anywhere other than /say
seriously, it can get to be nothing but a spam attack after a while. Most especially since the areas you typically frequent are busy enough as they are prior to your compounding upon it.
Why must everything be on /say anyway? Rule made by whom exactly? To be followed by everyone, a priori of personal judgement? Escapes me
