My brand new computer ran eso fine until 1.3...now I get freezes and crashes all the time....does anyone have any idea why I'm crashing all the time now? Usually I have to restart my entire system to even play again. I run several other high card demand programs no problem....I've ran eso since beta...no problem....but now it's an issue.
So far there have been about 5 different potential reasons, 1. Out of date addons, 2, out of date drivers, 3, Memory leak, 4, Running DirectX 11 instead of 9, 5. Needing to repair the client.

Oh so new direct X is actually worse? I will uninstall out dated add ons right now....thanks...my drivers are updated.
I should mention I was pve....tThe odd thing is right before there were like 5 people all on same quest and all waiting for storyline objective to show up....
Oh and why would direct X be fine before update 1.3?
These aren't guaranteed works but let me look where that guy talked about Direct X 11 and I'll be right back. and you don't have to take off all addons you can update them or just disable them 1 by one to see if it is one causing it.

Sometimes certain combinations of GPU, OS, and CPU just cause weird instability issues in this game. There's not much Zenimax can do about that.. yes, they can tweak optimization on their end, but they can't account for every single computer configuration that some people might be using.
When I first started playing, I used to have problems with the game freezing (not client crashing, just solid freeze, presumably because the graphics driver was crashing). I was able to solve it on my end by changing my user settings to run DX9 instead of DX11. There's a problem with some Nvidia card/driver combinations where they just won't run ESO in DX11 regardless of how new the card is.

I heard there was a memory leak but that it was fixed this past week. I was experiencing a ton of crashes too, but I haven't seen the problem in the last two days at all.
Check your memory usage while playing too. Also I heard shutting down the launcher after launching the game helps and sometime putting it into fullscreen mode.
If you haven't already try repairing the client. I had a problem when patching and needed to repair. Don't know if your problem can be caused by a patching error but may be worth a shot.

I would add a #6 to this: Network issues. Sometimes, if your internet is cutting in and out because of issues on your ISP's end, it will cause the game to crash. Otherwise, all of your suggestions there are almost always the cause of game crashes.
OP, nobody really knows why new updates suddenly cause instability problems for people who never had them previously. Generally it seems that they change some setting or render and it causes certain peoples' computers to spazz. I would recommend trying all of the things laid out by the first poster, and if you are still having problems, send in a support ticket to ZOS so they can try to help you sort it out.

I did delete some non updated add ons and it seems to have improved. I know for a fact it's no connection issues...100 meg dl 50 ul.
But since removing old add ons seems I have not crashed or frozen yet.
Thanks
