What makes a creature 'powerful'?
I'm a VT3 Nightblade playing Cadwell's Silver and currently in Stonehaven.
When the madness takes me I occasionally take a pop at soloing world bosses. One I've come across was a rather large VT2 ogre which I could repeatedly snare using Prolonged Agony. Another was a VT2 storm atronach which I couldn't snare at all and kept getting the message that it was "too powerful for that effect".
Now I know that any two given creatures of the same level aren't going to necessary be equally as tough (a VT2 world boss is going to be more of a handful than a VT2 mud crab) but I'm intrigued what made the VT2 atronach world boss powerful enough not to be affected by a skill that worked on another VT2 world boss.
Since I could repeatedly snare the ogre, but never the atronach I assume that this was inherent and not just a saving roll.
Is this just something set by the game developers or something algorithmic (perhaps the total of attribute points)?
