Lethal Arrow Hitting +4k dmg?

Multiple players in Cyrodil on the AD side experienced a specific DC player hitting 4k-6k damage on Lethal Arrow. If this isn't an exploit then this is a major issue.
Of course getting one shotted and not knowing it for 10 seconds is also pretty awesome. Nice lag ZOS! Highlight of the night was a scroll being taken by DC and then nobody being able to deal any damage because the lag was so bad. Can't wait for update 4 to come out so we can have more game breaking bugs and refreshed bugs.

That player is me, Covert Ops. I submitted a bug report. I logged out and back in. I crashed my game. That's all I'm going to do about it. I am not doing anything but pressing my bow weapon attacks. I am not going to stop using my bow. I am not going to quit PvPing. I have been using the bow since beta and I am not going to change now. Don't like it? Too bad.The only substitute for victory is overkill.10 -
IKilled007✭✭✭✭Also, the damage seems to scale based on the distance I am from the target. Sometimes I only hit with lethal arrow for 1100. Usually it's about 2200 to 2500. But if I am far away it can hit for 5500. Also light attack hits for between 350 and 1750. Venom arrow hits for 450 to 1600.

Makes it sound as though the bug is in the Long Shots passive.

I agree that you shouldn't have to stop PvPing. I wouldn't, either.
But what I would do is remove the skill until it is fixed, because I personally wouldn't enjoy 1-shotting people all night.
I also wouldn't want all the ill-will I'd get from the PvP community as a result of intentionally using a bugged skill and bragging about it.

It's every skill with the bow, plus light attacks. I am not switching weapons. And I don't know what "classy" has to do with it. It's all kinds of fun to kill people in one shot or two. I am not rearranging my entire build.The only substitute for victory is overkill.3 -

The damage scaling issue "should" have been fixed with the patch yesterday. My Lethal Arrow was hitting for it's normal 1300-1500 yesterday again.Edited by Jaxom on August 15, 2014 1:46PM0 -

Exactly. Covert can brag all he wants about using an exploit for 4 hours, but is not something I would want to happen within my own guild.
This type of exploit use made it easier for Blue and Red to flip the map on AD. When 1 player can take out 1 enemy per second.. from range.. it is just ridiculous. Then bragging about using the exploit?2 -

yeah except hes not using AD tears as lubricant, hes using DC tears now. i remember when people exploited to get past the gate and took our scroll, however the only effect it had on me was that i got to kill more AD next to my own gate, and the yellow died, so i could really give a *** less. if youre using that as an excuse for no mercy to justify exploit 1 shot people in order to dethrone another faction from emp, then screw no mercy.
when some dumb scrub starts 1 shotting everyone and everyone whos good on their faction logs off because it helped attribute to them losing EMP, and it turns one of the best nights of pvp in a while to NOTHING, it has an affect on me personally
one thing promotes pvp and i get to kill more people, the other thing destroys pvp and now im stuck barely able to hit people before the few left get mowed down3 -

Exactly. PVP is sustained through competition and getting players competitive. Thornblade so far has been much more competitive than Wabbajack ever was. However, when exploits are abused and the lag is so bad that you can't do anything there is no point to play. It takes the competition out of the game, and effectively kills PVP.

Aoe_Barbecue✭✭✭✭✭I can only speak on my behalf, not for my entire guild. But if certain people think their emperor was dethroned because of Covert then they are simply wrong. It must be irritating to be one shot because of bug that was supposedly fixed. But AD did not lose its emperor because of it. There were practically nine bars of population at BRK. Thus, there was massive ability so that all of us, Covert included, could not even use skills at all. The flags were capped simply due to force capping with bodies on the flags.
There is a qualitative difference between a whole group collaborating past a mechanic intended to keep people out of the scroll temples until certain keeps are captured, and one of our guildies not wanting to log or respec just because of ZoS's poor coding. He logged and crashed himself multiple times to get rid of the bug to no avail. It is quite ironic that certain people would suddenly be outraged at exploiting bad game code. I wasn't there for the last emp. keep, I logged off for a couple hours once emperor was gained, and came back to find the map flipped and a siege at BB. Also it was pretty funny to find EP there. I mean seriously can Red actually fight on their own? All they do these days is just pile on top of Blue or Yellow, whoever is on their heels. Maybe we should make a green alliance and beat the snot out of red for a few days...
Previous to the massive lag out when the scroll was grabbed Covert was making a huge difference with the exploit. I could care less if he tried to get rid of it. It is still not very respectable gameplay. But, that is opinion take it or leave it.
I logged after the scroll was grabbed. Why even play if lag is so bad that nobody can use any abilities? ZOS has not done anything to address server side lag and it kills large scale pvp battles.Edited by Strakand on August 15, 2014 3:41PM0 -

all you have to do to get rid of the bug is die, and EVERYONE told him that. he died MULTIPLE times and went and exploited to get the bug back so he could one shot people AGAIN.
lying on behalf of no mercy doesnt make YOU look any better, it just makes your guild look like it promotes 1 shot exploiting people to dethrone emps3
